Zareen’s in Redwood City is one of my favorite casual Indian-Pakistani spots, and overall, I think the meat dishes actually taste better here than the Palo Alto location — more flavorful, better-charred, and just more satisfying bite for bite. Whether it’s the chicken tikka or lamb kebab, the seasoning and tenderness really stand out.

That said, the naan is where this location falls a little short. It tends to arrive less fresh — sometimes a bit chewy or cooler than expected, especially compared to the Palo Alto branch where it’s consistently warm and fluffy. Not a dealbreaker, but noticeable if you’re particular about bread (and I am).

Despite minor inconsistencies, it’s still a great spot. The flavors are bold, the portions are fair, and the staff is usually friendly and efficient. I just wish the quality across locations could be a bit more aligned — it would make this a five-star experience every time. Still, I keep coming back and recommend it to anyone looking for comforting, spice-forward South Asian food in the area.

Came here for dinner and the place was packed, which usually feels like a good sign. Prices were fair, and the service was great friendly, quick, and really on point even with how busy it was. The atmosphere had a nice buzz without feeling overwhelming.

I ordered the Chicken Tikka, and while the sauce had good flavor, it was extremely spicy even on its own and the Naan was warm and tasted good. I was hungry, so I had to man up and power through it, but the spice level really overpowered the dish. The chicken itself was mostly chicken fatty and skin, and a few bites had a burnt taste.

I’ve had better Chicken Tikka before, both in terms of flavor balance and meat quality. This one just didn’t hit the mark for me.

Have been to Zareen’s a number of times, across all their locations and have never been disappointed. The Redwood location is special because they server Karahi (a special slow cooked chicken dish) over weekends. Also, the chai, sesame naan and saag mutton are delicious. The atmosphere is lively at all times for a casual dining experience.

Zareen’s is an amazing Pakistani restaurant. I’ve been here a few times for both lunch and dinner, and the food is always delicious. This time, I tried their breakfast and had a great experience. I ordered halwa puri, naan, and nihari with tandoori chicken — everything was full of flavor and so satisfying. Definitely one of my favorite spots!

Really good food, nothing else.

As others have pointed it’s more of a fast food style seating and menu selection but make no mistake the food is delicious unlike fast food.

Had the chapli kebab sizzler, dal thalli and the Zareen’s chicken kadhai special. Along with naan, chai and mango lassi. All were delicious ❤️

Really recommend the chapli kebab sizzler for anyone from Pakistan, the taste is super close!

Serves one of the finest Pakistani and Indian cuisine in the neighborhood! Best rolls ive had in a long time! The chickne tikka roll and the beef gola rol are super yummy! Don't forget to ask for chutney and enjoy! Their sweet lassi is also smething you would like which would transport you back home! ❤️ also the ambience is just sooo beautiful n rustic! Just loved it!

Zareen’s absolutely nailed the lunch buffet at the Alif Summit! The food was fresh, well organized, and constantly replenished. I saw so many people going back for seconds which says it all. The variety was great, and everything was packed with flavor. Pulling off a buffet at a big event isn’t easy, but they made it look effortless. Would love to have them again!

Food is amazing. I love the Chicken tikka masala — tender chicken with a smoky off-the-grill flavor swimming in a perfectly spiced sauce. The gola kabob is my other favorite, on a sizzling platter or in a silver spoon wrap. So good. Both Palo Alto and Redwood City feel like neighborhood hangouts, where people are extra nice to each other. I think it’s partly the way the staff treat their customers AND each other. You feel like they are truly happy you are there. Zareen herself is floating about, looking after people and making special dishes. Her new cookbook reads like a novel and autobiography.
