I highly recommend this place for a lovely afternoon activity! My family and I went on a space and stars tour here! It was beyond what I expected! It was spectacular and memorable! I was a bit worried about how many stairs there would be but it was fine! We loved it! It was such an interesting piece of American history! From the architecture and engineering to the scientific aspects we were amazed and enjoyed it so much! The tour guide is well versed and well spoken! Completely worth the drive and the cost.

Yerkes hosts the world's tallest glass tree Winter festival each year, which is why I was there. The grounds are lovely and it's dressed up the hill from Lake Geneva in Williams Bay. It's a beautiful. But the building is exquisitely beautiful architecture, both outside and inside and has an extraordinary history. Female forward and empowering. And the telescope is massive. And the whole floor underneath it raises and lowers. It's very impressive. They have the first ever pictures of many astrological entities that we know and love today. The tour is a very cool experience. Highly highly recommend.

Wow - the tour is about 1 hour and 45 minutes - with a knowledgeable guide who does this for the enjoyment of it. You get lots of background, a few rooms with exhibits, a huge telescope, an old library, and information on people such as Edwin Hubble and Carl Sagan! Our group had questions, and all were answered. There's about 30 steps to get to the telescope.

Completely extraordinary. Firstly my sincere thanks to Walt and Ken for their compelling and insightful presentation of the observatory. Really, a world-class tour.

If astronomy, astrophysics, history or architecture are of absolutely any interest to you, even if it’s just a passing one, I cannot recommend enough that you visit Yerkes. The science history is obviously spellbinding, but the stories of the characters involved - told perfectly by Walt and Ken - are fascinating.

Book online - I went to a Sunday morning tour. Just me a few other interested grown-ups.

Walking through the Space built to celebrate expanding minds was as usual a moment of confidence that I entered the perfect area to feel valued!

The Yerkes Observatory would take time to appreciate. Time I am trying to produce for all mankind! Several trips are needed to understand the Gravity that's there! Sharing the Energy all man could use to slow down their Time on Earth was incongruence with the level of responsibility of bringing Energy back to those who shared Energy with me.

Learning astrology would be on the list of important tasks of someone who grew closer to Gravity! The strength, the speed, the stamina, and the density you gain from Gravity's pains have a purpose. These Gifts would be for traveling through the Stars! The dream of every astrologer! To exercise their Strength as much as they do their Freedom; watching the Universe! ∆!

Advance weightlifting by controlling the area you add force on the bar to the same area. This will make certain the weightlifter never gains size and turns their mass into density!

It's the Birthplace of Astrophysics and home to the World's Largest Refracting Telescope. Carl Sagan and Edwin Hubble residenced here. Its architecture is stunning and riddled with detail. The campus is an Olmsted National Site. If you get a chance to go on a tour of this place, tucked away in Williams Bay overlooking Geneva Lake and able to look deep into the universe, you should definitely take it. Yerkes Observatory is a Wisconsin and national treasure, easy to access via Highway 67.

We were blown away today! Besides the stunning architecture, we had the world’s best guide. Walt (pretty sure his name was Walt. The gentleman from Arkansas) was fantastic. He provided a great deal of fun, entertainment, while informing us of the history and the science of the observatory. Walt, you were a delight! We will definitely be back for some of the many events coming up.

Was on the fence on whether it was worth the admission. I didn't know any of the backstory and was just passing through. Ended up being an incredible experience. The guide was soooo passionate about the history, personnel, and heritage and I was so glad I visited. Seeing the telescope and watching the "floating" floor still move after all these years was a surreal experience.
