Beautiful trail that isn't too difficult. My 5 year old daughter made it to the bridge and back with no issue. This is approximately 1.8 to 2 miles round trip. We stopped for a while at the bridge, drank a couple waters, and snacked on some cashews and jerky. Then headed back. Everyone we encountered was friendly and cordial. Would recommend to others and we will visit again.

Great hike, good scenery.
Don't wear Crocs, wear good hiking/running shoes and wear a Camelbak style water poach with at least 2.0 gallons. There's no place to fill up for water.

Not that you will drink that much, just a good idea for inexperienced hikers. Who wants to carry a bottle around?
Great scenery in Spring and Fall as nature intends to always please.
There is a place you have to pay a fee for parking. Otherwise, you will get a ticket.
Great views.
There are picnic benches near the parking areas.

Beautiful hike! It was a great workout. The surrounding views are so pretty. It was peaceful, quiet and refreshing. You can hear the river, which was so relaxing. Perfect for the whole family, and furbabies. There are lots of cows around, so there's droppings on the trail, but not so terrible you can't walk. It gets hot quickly, so bring plenty of water. The parking lot is small, and there's a $5 fee. There's a vault bathroom there, not too bad. There was no TP, so bring wipes. There's also a small picnic area next to the parking lot. The road to get to the Trailhead was windy and narrow, mostly down hill, a little rough on the brakes. But uphill on the way out. There was no Verizon coverage at all, until I was closer to town and the 168.

It has been some years now that I actually went down the trail. In the next two weeks the wildflowers will begin to bloom and there will be a riot of color.

I am not able to hike now so I went to the visitors center to find the gate locked and I was not able to see any of the exhibits my friend said was there. I have been there on three or four occasions and always on the wrong day apparently because I've never seen it open. I'll try and include a picture here of the cedar bark houses the Indian tribes used. You can see that they were mostly enclosed. I think keeping them open is for our edification so that we can see what was there. The granite rock behind the structures also has a number of pounding holes I don't know what else to call them.

Great trail. Went there 4/17/21, wild flowers were at peak, one of the best places to see colorful wildflowers, the water in the gorge and the foot bridge.

A very nice trail with places to picnic and have a BBQ. Wildlife can sometimes be seen on the hike, such as bobcats. You can jog or bike the trail as well. The trail leads to a beautiful bridge overlooking the San Joaquin River. There are lots of cow's in the area so watch out!

Great hike. Took wife and kids. One is 8 and one is 2. The kids were able to walk the whole way. Yes, even the 2 year old. Easy 30 minute trail down to a bridge over the San joaquin river. Open year round. Great beginner trail.

The trail is about 7-8 miles and there is little shade in the middle portion of the trail so plan ahead for the heat. It was pretty accessible with an obvious trailhead and 2 parking lots, but the parking is $5 unless you risk getting a ticket. I really enjoyed the hike, it had several offshoots from the main trail and I did explore one, also there are cows around the trail so give them their space!
