We held our handfasting ceremony at the Murdock-Whitney. The home is exquisite. It's filled with old world charm and classy decor. Don made planning easy and stress free. He was flexible with times for us to set up and be at the house. Our guests absolutely loved the setting.

I recommend this beautiful restored building. At Christmas 🎄 it is decorated to the hilt! They open their doors for family pictures. Simply amazing! Nice if anyone can, give a donation to keep this beauty, is appreciated!

Great beautiful old home! Definitely stop and take a tour. The house is amazing. Plus, if you're into the paranormal, this might be the stop for you. House seems relatively active and open to investigating!

The Murdock Whitney Mansion is a gem! Truly looks like it could be a movie set. Just a breathtaking piece of American history.

We had a great time tonight while at the historical society. We did the Toy Makers Escape Room & it was a lot of fun. They were very welcoming. when we finished it was late & they invited us to come back and see all the antique toys & the other building. It was a great experience & it's definitely worth paying them a visit!

As part of an escape room marathon, our team of escape enthusiasts (we have done over 100 games) decided to try The Moonlight Society escape room. It was one of the best we have seen, combining a rich atmosphere with some incredible puzzling, creating a fun and exciting game. The historical setting was a rarely seen and incredible touch, giving the room the antiquated feel that such a theme deserves. The owners / game masters were incredibly nice and helpful, further adding to an amazing experience. Overall, I cannot recommend this game enough.

Invited or not by a member, do not purchase tickets to their events. You'll be sent a no trespass order for showing up. Do not inquire about the history of your home, they will not help you - even with an offer of a generous donation. Do not offer to volunteer, they will turn you away, even though they state that they never turned volunteers away. Do not visit during their Open House hours, you have to be invited. Myself several residents in this town are seeing this kind of behavior from an organization that supposed to promote history, learning and boasts transparency no fear.

One star is too much, they just deserve no star.

They are not friendly, welcoming and helpful with foreigners.
I sent a request in November to ask for a picture in a old yearbook. I have never received a reply other than we are busy. I assume they are busy everyday or just close everyday. No one answer to my telephone call due to my non American phone number. I should ask a friend to phone them and I am sure someone will answer to him.
This takes 2 minutes to open a book or search on a computer in the digitalized book.
I proposed to pay for the research. They don't need money, OK I will keep my money and donate it to those who are happy and take time help me.

It is sad to see that they have no respect for those who made their history.
