“Choose our own adventure” if you want to see something specific or have your guides show you around: This is an AWESOME way to see the offshore nature preserves at the mouth of Tampa Bay!

My son and I had a great two-and-a-half-hour boat excursion with Wayward Key. We left from Maximo Park in St. Pete, sailed past Fort Da Soto, saw a HUGE group of cow-nosed sting rays off of Egmont Key, and then headed to Shell Key for snorkeling. The entire way, our guides gave us a smooth ride, told us about the local history, and provided our snorkeling gear.

Thanks again to Keith and Dede for a FANTASTIC afternoon! We look forward to a return trip with you to check out the Skyway Bridge lights at night. 😎😉

I booked this cruise back in July. The communication was great from that point on up through the sunset cruise. I booked a private cruise just for my wife and I. I wanted to get away from the group atmosphere and not be constricted by all that goes with that. Wayward Keys Tours provided that as well as champagne for my wife and I. We experienced a beautiful sunset and saw quite a few dolphins. Captain Keith and his first mate Dede were awesome hosts. I highly recommend!

The best way to explore Fort De Soto and Shell Key is by going on a day cruise with Wayward Key Tours.

My husband and I had a wonderful time bouncing around to find different places to snorkel. We've never snorkeled in the area so we didn't know what we were looking for. The knowledgeable WKT crew had many suggestions and found spaces where we could enjoy the waters and sea creatures away from the crowds.

The activities: We got to see the fort ruins, saw wildlife in the seagrass, and hung out in the sandbars where we found sand dollars and shells with every step.

The ride: The World Cat was impressively stable on choppy water and operated smoothly. There is a sink and head to make those long outings comfortable. There is plenty of seating. A few people may be able to recline in the bow under a retractable bimini cover. The size of the boat made it possible for us to get into shallow areas and anchor wherever we wanted.

If you're visiting the area or are a local looking for a private boat with a captain to give your small group a wonderful, custom tour, Wayward is the way to go!
