I recall the first time I went here in 2017. I didn't realize that this place existed until my neighbor told me about this place. This place is full of Florida history. My first visit was awesome, and I did get the opportunity to learn a lot from this place. I will return here soon whenever the time and weather permits me too.

Very happy to have this park nearby! Love the views and the history is important to remind us of how we need to treat people better regardless of skin tone. The foliage is more native and natural and very pretty. Happy they have a spot for used fishing lines but unfortunately everyone doesn’t dispose of them properly. I usually pick them up and dispose of them in the designated spot. Unfortunately through garbage is strewn around most mornings because the garbage cans are overfull and do not have tops. Animals will of course munch on some leftovers. Please add tops to your cans. These items end up in the river. See photos.

Walter Jones Historic Park has rich history of the Mandarin neighborhood around every corner. There is an on-site museum, one room school house, old barn, sawmill, winery, and more. Aside from the historic aspect is the walking trail that leads to a wooden boardwalk that winds along the St. John's River and leads to the County Dock.

Beautiful spot to relax and enjoy the river views. They have a history tour of sorts led by wealthy white ladies that volunteer. The part that talks about slavery is so washed down it seems like the slaves were treated so well. If you don't know better, you may not even think they were owned like property and held against their will doing forced labor. But otherwise it's a nice park. I highly recommend it.

Very well kept up with park and historic site. The mini museum here was awesome and the knowledgeable staff were awesome! Plus it’s a great place to take some photos and enjoy the outdoors with some Old-Florida vibes!

Beautiful park. Great for walking. Old historic buildings with plaques giving you great detail about the area and buildings. Lots of benches to sit and picnic tables. Loved the large deck over looking St John's River. Boat launch located next door. There are a couple of access to wooden walkway along the river as well. Be on the look out for the many ceramic frogs in random places!

We enjoyed our stop at the Walter Jones historic Park. It is quite lovely, even in January. It was a little bit lackluster and not much to do other than look at the river or the buildings. The signage was fairly plain, I would have liked a bit more detail on the cool buildings and machinery, or perhaps to have the option to tour the buildings for a fee even. The parking was easy and I did like that the pathways led back to each other. It was not a long enough walk for us, but we may have missed something, I'm not really sure. There was no trail map available when we arrived. There were flyers to be taken by the museum, but there were none left so I'm not sure what would have been in them.
