Wonderful hill country hidden gem! The location is remote but well worth the journey to get there! Very quiet & secluded. Great for a rejuvenating couples getaway. The views are serene and the outdoor shower to start your morning is exhilarating to say the least. Golf carts are provided to shuttle your luggage in and out. I would gladly have paid extra to have had a dedicated golf cart at our tent. That’s the only improvement I’d suggest- otherwise it was perfectly incredible.

Walden Retreats is exactly what it says, a retreat! Our yurt had a wonderful view of the hill country. It was pristine accommodations and yet a little rugged, too. You can bring your own meals (& ice!) to prepare or you may purchase from the Retreats. It is super relaxing and fun to prepare your own meals and just chill. I cannot say enough great things about our experience here. I highly recommend! And Amber, the host/manager was very responsive to our questions.

From the moment we saw a picture of Walden Retreats, we were in love with the place. Our first visit with Tim (who is no longer there, sadly) was incredible, and the entire process from booking to the big day was seamless. Tim made everything so easy, answering all of our questions with patience. After his departure, we had the pleasure of working with Amber, who was equally amazing. She kept everything on track and communicated with us every step of the way.

The entire team, including the owners, was incredibly welcoming and made us feel at home from the very beginning. On our wedding day, the weather was perfect—chilly but sunny—and the views were absolutely stunning. It was the perfect backdrop for photos, and our guests couldn’t stop raving about the venue.

We also had guests stay in the yurts, and they were beyond happy with their accommodations. The fact that Walden Retreats is dog-friendly was an added bonus—our dogs didn’t want to leave after such a wonderful weekend!

We can’t wait to come back and celebrate our anniversary here. Highly recommend Walden Retreats for anyone looking for a beautiful, serene venue with exceptional service.

Absolutely loved it! One of my favorite places I’ve stayed on vacation. Very friendly and helpful staff, amazing weather, and tranquil cabins. Perfect for a couples trip or honeymoon! It was the right amount of secluded but also not scary! They provide everything you need and there’s easy access to local parks, cities, and activities! The drive out there alone is amazing! Highly recommend and hope to come back!

This place is magical. If you can, rent out the entire property and host your wedding here. We had the best three day retreat/wedding at WR and the staff was super helpful, flexible and fun. I slept better in my tent that I had slept in months. I want to go back!

We had a beautiful time at Walden Retreats! The tents are nicer than a lot of "luxury" hotel rooms, the team has thought of every need and the views are incredible! We will definitely be back!! If you go, highly recommend the meal kits. They are delicious and fun to make.

Beautiful and so relaxing. The bed was really comfortable and the temperature inside the cabin was very flexible and easy to set. The view from the outside deck was stunning. The trail albeit short and steep, was a nice a relaxing one with quiet areas around you. The river was also nice to look at. Wish I could have gotten in but timing did not allow. The firepit and lodge were also very nice to use. Definitely coming back! Thank you for the great service 🙂

We had a company offsite meeting at Walden Retreats and it was absolutely wonderful! The location is beautiful with sweeping views of hill country and the river. The meeting room has floor to ceiling windows to showcase the views and makes you feel one with nature even if you are indoors as we were during our meetings. They really have thought of everything to create the perfect balance of outdoor camping and luxury glamping with super cozy tents and thoughtful details that allow you to enjoy the outdoors while being comfortable. We enjoyed a lovely dinner in their beautiful meeting room as well as corn hole on the lawn during an epic sunset. I would highly recommend Walden Retreats for any occasion!
