The people at Visit Bakersfield are super nice and they know everything about this lovely town. Parking is easy. Check for hours.

Inside you will find someone happy to help you. They have a ton of flyers and discounts for all sorts of places. There is much more to do there than you would think. Some of the desert drives are stunning and you have to go to Buck Owens Crystal Palace for a meal or a show or both.

They have lovely parks, some nice hotels, all manner of things for kids to do. But you have to know where you are going.

So get off on Truxtun or California off the 99 and go to Visit California.

My husband and I visited here on Wednesday January 19th. We were greeted by a very nice gal( sorry I didn’t get her name), who was very polite and professional. She gave us information on places to visit in Bakersfield, answered our questions and even looked up information on the computer regarding times places were open. We were heading home after being in San Diego for vacation, so we decided to visit the Kern County History Museum and we’re glad we did.

Nice facility. I moved here in September and, wanting to get some info on area attractions, city and county services, etc, I stopped in late on a Monday afternoon. The staff was friendly and helpful, even though they were five minutes away from closing. I got some information to get me started and plan to return to get more! If you're new to Bakersfield, Kern County, or just visiting, be sure to stop in!
