We had an absolutely incredible experience with Steven from 29 Palms Astronomy Club! Meeting at the High View trailhead in Yucca Valley, we were treated to an unforgettable night of stargazing under a breathtaking sky. Steven’s powerful laser made it easy to identify celestial formations and visible constellations, and his telescope gave us stunning views of Jupiter and its four moons, Mars, Andromeda, Betelgeuse, the Seven Sisters, double stars, and more.

Steven’s knowledge is extraordinary—he taught us about supernovas, shooting stars (we saw three!), comets, black holes, dark matter, and the mind-blowing distances between celestial bodies. His storytelling brought ancient Greek myths to life, and he answered all our questions with enthusiasm and expertise.

Steven is engaging, entertaining, and clearly passionate about what he does. This was truly a highlight of our trip to Joshua Tree, and we highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area. Thank you, Steven, for an unforgettable night under the stars!

Steve was EXCELLENT for our big group of 10.. 3 families with 4 kids aged 7 to 12! He answered all the questions we had about stars and planets and loved all the jokes the kids had 🙂 We loved the surprise stars he showed us from the telescope too!

We had the pleasure of stargazing with Steven. My family and I enjoyed his presentation (both geared to adults and children). Not only did we learn a lot, but the attention to detail and customization of our experience in advance was very welcome. He had seats for us, nice red guide lights and even a small step for our youngest. Steven did not rush us at all everything about the presentation was well orchestrated. We saw planets, galaxies, satellites, even learned how to determine constellation positions with seasonal variance. This was an experience that will last a lifetime for all of us. I will be reminded of this amazing astronomer whenever we look up at the night sky. Super cool!

The stargazing tour with Zarrin was amazing. We did it as a family on New Year's Eve and it was the highlight of our time in Joshua Tree. I would highly recommend it to anyone visiting the area because the stars are so amazing in Joshua Tree but when you add the guide and the telescopes, it is incredible.

We had an amazing experience with Steven from 29 Palms Astronomy Club during our stay in Joshua Tree! He brought his telescope to our Airbnb and gave a fantastic stargazing tour. Steven was incredibly knowledgeable, patient, and engaging, making the night sky come alive for all of us. He was especially great with kids, answering their questions and keeping them excited about the stars. Highly recommend this experience for anyone visiting the area!

This was absolutely amazing! Zarrin created a wonderful experience for our family and was extremely informative. He brought (2) different telescopes to show us different perspectives of the sky. We absolutely recommend this!!

Incredible evening under the stars with Steven. We learned so much in 2 hours and got to see incredible views of several planets and many stars with a very powerful telescope. It was truly worth the effort of renting a car from Palm Springs to the Yucca Valley area to view the sky from a campground with very little light pollution. Steven is incredibly knowledgeable and has a passion for astronomy..he knows how to lead a memorable tour of the skies! Tip: If you're able to gather a group of 6 for a private tour that is the best deal as far as pricing goes, though the cost for just my wife and I was only a few dollars more than a group tour that cancelled our excursion a few weeks prior to our visit. Either way, it's worth the cost and the relatively short drive from Palm Springs for a spectacular experience!

Amazing experience with Zarrin! Was a last minute booking on Christmas Day and we met right as the sun went down. Were able to see Saturn’s rings, Jupiter’s stripes and a phasing Venus. He was extremely patient and taught our son how to use the telescope and track stars. Highly recommend!!
