What a great little slice of history. The restored Church and sanctuary, dating back to the 1800's, are the main points of interest, at least in my opinion, and are replacements to church's that have been built and lost over time going back to the 1700's. These current structures have been receiving preservation work to keep them in relatively good condition for several decades. A roof was added to the Church years ago to help in preserving the remaining interior features from the elements. The main sanctuary still retains some of the original plaster, paint and stencil designs that hint at how the interiors once looked back in the day. You can self tour through the main church, into the sanctuary and through the priest's office. There is an interesting outdoor store room just behind the church along with a cemetery. Depending on your time here, there are lots of hiking trails offering opportunities to explore the grounds and learn more about the many different cultures that shared this area, sometime in peace, and sometimes in conflict. It's an interesting history lesson worth at least a couple hours of your time.

Excellent hidden gem that gives a better understanding of the SouthWest. Was pleasantly surprised by my visit. The National Park ranger was very knowledgeable, engaging, and friendly. Not too busy.

Very nice historical site. Ranger Rick was awesome and very helpful. We spent about an hour here and then had lunch at the picnic tables ( we brought our lunch with us, the park has some snacks).

Took a leisurely drive down to Tumacacori National Park and was impressed by the work being done to restore and maintain this historic location. The museum portion is a must see so as to get a better understanding of the area.

Definitely worth a visit if you have the national park annual pass; not sure if it’d be if you’re paying the $10 per person entrance fee. The San Xavier is a much bigger mission up north of this one and free. It was cool for me to see them both because it gave me a better sense of how each is unique and the nuances of their history.
The Tumacácori has a history with a mix of collaboration and uprising/clashes between the natives and Spanish - while the San Xavier would be more of a symbiotic relationship and hence a more well maintained structure.

I found the grounds amazing, the church hasn’t been restored but you can still enjoy the history.

I learned a lot from the museum in regards to the history of the Spanish people & Indigenous people.

We walked to the river it was an amazing walk.

The gift shop is very reasonable when it comes to pricing.

I would recommend this to everyone, especially for families with children.

I really enjoyed my visit to Tumacacori National Monument. The church and the exhibits along the self-guided tour were interesting. I also enjoyed the museum, as well.
