This hotel is in the middle of a small town in Texas that suffers from a few growing pains only. It’ll get better. No restaurant @ the hotel, but they somehow have a menu & can serve you a pizza or other standard fare. The evening bar scene is active & populous, with locals, hunters & other visitors of all age groups & backgrounds well-represented.

I ran across this hotel in an old Texas Highways magazine and we decided to stay there on a recent road trip. It's owned and managed and maintained by country singer Heather Myles who was there when we stayed. She is restoring the hotel to approximate it's 1923 look but with modern conveniences. We stayed in the 3 room + bath Miss Pearl suite for slightly over $100 for one night. The room was nicely furnished with 1920's style furniture. Comfy bed and sitting rooms with a kitchen area with small fridge and microwave. Be aware that there are 22 steps to the 2nd floor rooms, no elevator. Staff was extremely friendly. It's right on the courthouse square, a nice place for a morning stroll.

I reserved a suite for myself and my family. After finding out the the funeral we were attending that Saturday was going to be at 10am, I was in a panic. We were driving over 12 hours, and there's no way we were going to be funeral ready with check-in being later than the funeral itself. I reached out to the hotel, and the owner, Heather, responded to me directly. FOR NO EXTRA CHARGE, she switched us to another room in which we were able to check into at 8am. You read that right...8 in the morning! Who does that? An owner that genuinely cares about her business and it's guests. The hotel is so quaint and unique. The prices are amazing. The staff makes you feel like a friend and not a customer. I'm obsessed. This will be our regular stay when visiting Brady from now on. 100/10

Work crew stayed here one night on our way across Texas, ate tacos, sang Karaoke and had a few drinks. This place is iconic and we look forward to coming back. Scott and Heather are fantastic people, and cash is king.

The manager, Ivan, went to great lengths to accommodate us and personally ensured that our room was immaculate. This hotel is very unique and has a lot of character, definitely a nice change from the regular chain motels. The bar downstairs is pretty cool, and we never heard any music etc in our room. The staff were friendly, and the room was comfy.

If you're a down-to-earth person with a sense of humor, you'll enjoy the management. The Heart of Texas room is pretty great, nice and spacious! The hotel itself is interesting being a historic location. The bar downstairs was decently busy but I didn't hear anything from the room even when silent. The hotel is in a quaint town on a city square so there's some stuff to see locally if you get out and about.

This was by far one of the worst experiences I have had with a hotel. It was a one night stay with my wife and two small children while visiting family and friends in Brady. I arrived at approximately 8 PM and there is no separate area to check in so I had to go to the crowded bar area where it took several minutes to get anyone’s attention. Once I told them I was there to check in, I did not receive any kind of real response, but several minutes later another gentleman came up to the bar with a phone and looked up my reservation. The process lacked any kind of professionalism in either dress or etiquette. Dressed in an untucked tshirt that did not identify himself with the hotel, he used vulgar language the entire time he was showing me to the room. Not directly towards me, but cussing at the dog that was walking with him and making multiple inappropriate comments; at one point asking me if I had an STD. The electrical in the room did not work properly so none of the appliances in the kitchenette worked. The bed’s mattress was extremely old and uncomfortable. They had a portable heater in the bedroom that was unsafe, especially if you have small children. The hotel was hosting a party downstairs and was blaring live music until midnight and then the bar music was playing until 2 am. It was so loud you could not enjoy the TV, if it worked (it did not). I had to stay up with my 2 yr old because he was frightened by all the noise to include the drunks that were leaving the event. They were revving their engines and spinning out as they left. I would not consider this place a safe environment if you have children. There was no one downstairs the next morning to speak with and I have received no response to emails concerning the issues with our stay. It is unfortunate because this place has a ton of potential if it were more professionally maintained and managed.
