I really enjoyed being on this trail.
Plenty of parking spaces and trail marks. Restrooms and water fountains are available at the facility. Nice beautiful benches rest near the parking lots in the middle of the nature. Easy open access trails for everyone and descriptions of nature and animals that are in Alabama the further you hike the trail. There’s also a nice lake that wraps around the trail.
After I exited, I was greeted by a kind man and we had a good short conversation.
Very pleasant experience!
Excited to hike more here during the fall ?

Absolutely loved this trail, been trying to find some stuff to do to get out of the house for the summer and this was perfect for me and my pup! Very peaceful and the trails are well marked, as well as all the different types of foliage. I didn’t have the opportunity to walk all the different trail routes mostly because me and my buddy got a bit tired halfway through, but I’ll definitely be coming back soon!

They have significantly fixed up the place from whenever I was a student. The trails have been remade, there is wildlife preservation areas for the STEM students, and there is outdoor classrooms and teaching areas. The whole project has given the Arboretum a face lift and I highly recommend it to any nature trail fans

When we first got there, there was no one else there so we weren’t completely sure if we could be there or not, but we took the chance and it was a nice time. Nice walk around the pond, but I really wish the bridge wasn’t broke so we could go across it. I got some awesome shots for my Instagram: @liyah.on.the.move (yes, shameless plug)

The highlight of our visit to Troy! There were so many baby frogs we had to take very slow steps to let them get out of the way. This is such a great habitat, so shady and cool, with soft walking paths throughout. Thank you for your efforts

Surprisingly well-maintained trails. You can tell a lot of work has gone into creating and preserving this habitat. So many frogs!

Such a diversity of plants. Liked the trails and trees. I had my ecology lab there and I enjoyed it. The pond is quite polluted and the bridge leading to the pond is almost broken. The arboretum as a whole needs some renovation.

The university's biology department is working on renovations and restoration and let me say, it is looking great! Wonderful place to walk your dog or just get your steps in and admire nature. There are some low spots on some of the trails where it gets muddy so you might want to wear hiking boots. Overall, a great place and highly recommend checking it out if you're looking for a new place to explore in Troy!
