The photographs make this place appear nicer than what really is. We traveled in a low and off-peak time of year, they should have had plenty of time to address maintenance concerns. The room service is really bad, they would make the bed but they would not change the sheets. We didn’t have any shampoo for our entire stay there, they never refilled the shampoo. The rooms are loud and bright at night. The heater is loud. They never cleaned the floors or give us a floor mat, so the rooms would easily get filthy. The toilet paper rack had been broken and was not repaired. They would not refill the tea and coffee regularly. When you take a shower, the whole floor becomes wet. It’s very efficiency oriented and not guest oriented. It feels like they care about return on investment more than the guest experience. We don’t recommend this place and we would not go back there.

Convenient location, friendly and helpful staff, comfortable beds and linens. It was nearly perfect for a one night getaway to enjoy a winter day walking around the town of Estes. The walls were thin and the water pressure in the shower a tad low, but we had a nice stay on the second floor. Just a tad pricey for our liking but I would still recommend the hotel to others ?

Staff were great! Loved the location. For the price, it definitely could have been better. TV was not fully operational with channels and we called and they had us troubleshoot, but channels still didn't come up. The bathroom is extremely small and heat barely made it in there. The shower water temps never got hot enough and shower floor would fill up quickly (not slanted to drain)and you were basically standing in cold water. Videos of the establishment were a bit misleading and for the price, definitely could have been better.

The only reason I didn’t give it a five star is bc for the price I feel like there should have been a complementary breakfast. We only stayed for two nights, the staff was very friendly and helpful! We loved them. The thermostat in our room was set to 70 and for someone who likes the warmth it would be great. we were able to adjust and get as low as 61. So in our book it’s still a win. We did try their breakfast sandwich which I thought was delicious. My husband thought it was ok but for the price he didn’t complain and thought it was good.

The hotel is newly modeled with new owners so honestly the negative reviews they have are just some kinks the hotel will/need to get worked out.
My husband and I personally like the minimalist of the rooms. We don’t like to be overly cluttered with stuff. We were in a king size bed room and we thoroughly enjoyed our stay.

We had a great 2 night stay at Trailborn. The location is excellent, easy walking distance to shops and restaurants. The room was clean and well appointed, although a bit loud when other guests walked by. The staff were all friendly and helpful, and we enjoyed the s’mores after a long day of hiking in RMNP. Overall we loved the vibe and look forward to returning soon!

My husband and I stayed here for a quick one night stay. The rooms were so clean and so new. The rooms were quiet and the bed was super comfortable. The complementary s’mores during the evening were a huge plus. It is also walking distance into town which was amazing to not drive after dinner.

Great on the surface- details need some thought. Bathroom didn’t have hooks to hang towels, bedside table lamps wouldn’t come on without turning all of the overhead on, and shower didn’t drain. Coffee in lobby is 4 dollars/cup and you only get instant coffee in the room. Overall, it’s a good base camp for RMNP and the vibe is fun after a day full of hiking but details need to be thought through a little more. The lady working the front desk upon arrival was awesome though! S’mores are a great touch and the lobby is aesthetically pleasing!

This place is recently renovated and has potential but the pricing was very high for what you get. There are very few amenities when considering their other properties. No breakfasts included, no coffee makers in the room, etc.. If you do get a lower room it does sound like herds of elk are walking about in the upper rooms. You also have no sound insulation from the upper rooms toilets flushing which can be very loud if your neighbors are night-owls. The bathtubs drain slow enough for you to be standing in your dirty water by the time you finish taking a shower. We also noticed the rear windows cannot be locked, latched, or secured in any way which is a little concerning if you’re out hiking all day.
