We had an incredible stay at the Domes over Spring Break. We will definitely be back! Beautiful views and everything you need in your cozy dome. The rooms were immaculate and had thoughtful touches like extra hooks, lotion, a mini fridge and plenty of seating. The beds were so comfortable and we appreciated the a/c and heating. We came with friends and loved star gazing, playing games together, enjoying sunset up at the summit, playing corn hole and of course taking trips into Big Bend National Park to hike and see the sights. This was such a memorable trip!!

Great get away spot! WiFi if you want it, but very limited cell service, so the best opportunity to unplug and unwind. The outdoor showers are fantastic! I want to build my own as soon as I get home! Indoor shower options as well. Fantastic views in every direction! Road is long and a little rough, but manageable in a midsize car.

We had such an awesome experience at the Summit at Big Bend over Spring Break. The beds were so comfortable and the domes were immaculate. The a/c and heater kept our temps perfect. There were so many thoughtful touches like extra hooks for towels and hoodies, lotion and comfy chairs by the fire pit. The bathrooms were clean and well maintained and we enjoyed cooking several meals at the kitchen area, playing corn hole and resting in the hammocks. If you are visiting Big Bend National Park, it will take about an hour to get to most of the sites but we really didn't mind the drive because it was so beautiful. The stars were lovely, despite a full moon and windy conditions. We will definitely be back!! Thank you!

This was the best place to stay!! The domes were beautiful, and there was thoughtful attention to detail everywhere. Sinks with potable water in the domes made everything easier, the beds were comfortable, and the minimalist style aligned well with the beautiful desert.

Bathrooms were SUPER clean, showers felt luxurious after a day of desert hiking. The private outdoor shower was a dream!

This was hands down the way to go for our family with young kids as we explored big bend national park. The comfort helped make the otherwise harsh desert environment a softer landing pad for a family with four young children looking for adventure.

We had a memorable experience. The right mix of camping and glam. Dome was quite comfortable. Bathroom and shower facilities were fine. Cooked on the fire pit both nights. Staff was attentive and on it. A big storm came in last night so we didn’t see the stars but it was exciting. The dome held up well. Highly recommend.

What an incredible experience! We stayed in Onyx Cave, and it’s easily the coolest place I’ve ever spent the night. It’s up the mountain on an unpaved road, close to the actual summit of the mountain - which is a great little hike by the way!
We came out here to take pictures of the stars, and WOW! We were not disappointed!
As a nature nerd, I loved staring at the different types of rock that make up our dwelling, spotting cool lizards, birds, and bats. The sunset view from the hammock is stunning.
If I have anything negative to say about it, the water pressure is a bit unreliable, but that’s what you get at the top of a mountain.

Recommended for couples and adults with no significant health or mobility issues. If you have any concerns about safety or physical fitness, The Summit offers more options at lower elevations.

I love The Summit at Big Bend. I have so many things to list, but here are some of the things to watch out for.
People. They come in around sunset and are gone by sunrise, but it is often loud from 8-10. We did go during high season and that may just be a thing during Mar28 to Apr10.
Cacti. Their branches often extend inti walkways.
Bathroom sinks. There are none. Make sure to bring hand sanitizer or wash at the nearest kitchen.
Bathroom breaks. Make sure to use the bathroom before you go to bed. It depends on which bubble you have, but midnight bathroom walks are not enjoyable.
Kitchen space. There is one kitchen per every 15 or so bubbles. Make sure to snag the first open spot you see. If you are in a pinch, just go up FM170, and there are some restaurants at the end of the road and in Terlingua and Lajitas.
Some of the things I loved about The Summit at Big Bend were,
The quick and easy service. One night the grill handle broke, and within 15 minutes of us notifying the staff, someone was out to fix it.
The bathrooms were very clean. We were expecting gross bathrooms from their regular use. Surprisingly they were quite clean and made bathroom trips better to have a clean toilet than a dirty one. They get cleaned every morning.
The sink in the bubble. I was expecting everything to be at the kitchen or the bathrooms but, we had our very own sink in our bubble, which made bedtime much easier.
Walkways. They were neatly laid out with sticks and stones, with little rivers to cross small streams.
Parking. I will say if you have more than one car you would not like staying here, but if you do have one car, it is very easy and parking spots are right next to your bubble.
Both nights that we stayed here were cloudy, and that was okay because it rained to. We got to have our first dry thunderstorm and we were safe and protected in our bubble. If there are storms, they will most likely clear up around 5:00AM and that is great time to stargaze as no one is awake. If I came to West Texas again, I would totally stay here and recommend this place to a friend.

We had a fabulous stay at the domes! It is a great location to stay when visiting Big Bend. Our dome was so cute & clean & had all the necessities. The bed was comfy. There was a couch, 2 chairs & table to look out over the complex, a refrigerator, a sink, a coffee make with coffee, tea & hot cocoa. The bathrooms were clean & the water was hot immediately in the shower. We didn't cook out, but we did sit by the firepit both nights of our stay (firewood was provided). I would definitely stay again! To get to the domes, you travel on about 2 miles of gravel road. It is super bumpy at 10mph, it is better when you go faster, around 35-40mph, lol.
