This was an excellent, engaging and enlightening tour given by Mike. I appreciated his use of visuals which brought these important historical figures to life. He also uniquely tied our walking tour locations together with visuals of old maps he had with him. Mike's delightful presentation kept our group of all ages entertained. I felt as if I had stepped back in time witnessing the unfolding events leading up to and during the revolution and beyond "on the edge of my seat". Mike's keen insights on the people , places and events of this incredibly pivotal time in the history of our nation makes me want to learn more. He is kind to share additional resources and a reading materials list, as well as suggestions for great local restaurants. This was, by far, one of the best history tours I've ever taken .

We had an amazing experience with Mike! He was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of Boston and the United States, and he did a fantastic job tying all the pieces together in a fun and engaging way. Our group was much smaller than other tour groups we saw, which made the experience feel more personal and interactive. Mike also had great recommendations for food spots around the city. I had walked around Boston for a couple of days and passed several other tour groups and knew I did not want to do a tour that was “on the left you will see…” as they kept walking. Boston is overflowing with history and that’s what I wanted to know more about. I chose the 3 1/2 hour tour. Our guide was Tyler, who is a history teacher. He didn’t dress up in a tacky revolutionary costume and give a memorized script. He was well trained and knowledgeable. What I also like about Tyler is that he was respectful of the other tourists. Over the last few days of me walking around alone, I would be blocked from seeing historical sites by other large tour groups. Tyler would ask that we always keep room for those passing by us so they could also enjoy the sites. This tour takes you from the start of Boston all the way to Bunker hill and wraps up with what became of the prominent players in the war. I highly recommend this tour.

Tyler was very punctual and made the entire tour very interesting. This tour does not follow the Freedom Trail formally, but rather weaves around to tie events and people in a more chronological way. Tyler’s voice projection and inflection made hearing him easy, even with a larger than usual group. Highly recommend this tour and be sire you get Tyler as your guide.

Absolutely incredible tour, one of our favorite parts of our trip to Boston. Mike is absolutely incredible— funny, engaging, and very intelligent. Also appreciated his restaurant recs— not a single one disappointed. Whether you are a history buff or not, this tour is a must. 10/10 recommend!
