It's hard to describe The Knotty Oak - because there is no other place like it! In a really good way. ❤️ The decor is eclectic and fun. The gathering spaces are comfy and quaint. We had such a special time with Mary and her friends during a wine tour excursion with Amy Moreau (Talk of the Table). This Anderson Valley property is the perfect 'come home to' place for your friends and family. Tour the local wineries, unique stores, beautiful surroundings, and Mendocino area during the day - knowing you'll be relaxing at The Knotty Oak when you return.

If you're looking for a vacation rental (and great event space) with personality, look no further than this quirky spot tucked away in Philo, CA, (Located in Anderson Valley). From the moment you step through the door at The Knotty Oak you're greeted by a collection of vintage decor and eccentricities that make every corner a delight. During my recent stay I was immediately greeted by the owner, Mary. Her relaxed and welcoming vibe create an instant sense of peace and relaxation.

Mary is as colorful and eclectic as her establishment, full of stories and recommendations for interesting and fun activities in the area. Whether it's exploring local wineries or walking the nearby Navarro River, Mary will ensure your stay is as memorable as it is fun.

The entire property is beautifully appointed with fun, thoughtful decor and upscaled historical artifacts and ephemera that perfectly complement the natural surroundings.
The rooms are each uniquely themed with vibrant colors and funky furnishings and artwork.

The Knotty Oak is far from ordinary and an absolute must-visit and offers a delightful escape from whatever it is you may be escaping from. Embrace the vibes and enjoy.

What an amazing experience! This venue is so beautiful and unique. The property is right in the heart of Anderson Valley with all the amenities you need for a great event. I love the vintage decor with nice bathrooms and large kitchen. Mary is a great host and knows of all the things to do in Anderson Valley. Can’t wait to come back!

This is a very unique place, we had a wonderful experience! The place has a fascinating history, the minute you step into the house you know you are somewhere special. Mary was a fabulous host, she was spot on with her recommendations and we enjoyed every minute of our stay. The house is clean, quiet, and fun to just be in! Walking distance to a grocery store and a winery across the street. Very convenient. I can’t more strongly recommend this place, we will never forget the great time we had at Knotty Oak!

My wife and I got married at The Knotty Oak this Summer. Words cannot express how amazing this property is. Mary has built three beautiful homes, all well equipped with amazing appliances, vintage artwork, and the comforts of a four star hotel. This property also has a magical forest amphitheater, and plenty of space on any of the many outdoor decks for you and your guests to enjoy. Our friends and family were blown away, as were we. We truly had the time of our lives and I would do it all over again if given the chance. An absolute gem of a place!

Don't sleep on Philo, CA -- this area is such a lovely get away from the hustle bustle of the city and finding the Knotty Oak has been a dream! Quirky and comfy, this spot has everything you need for small to large gatherings. I've had the opportunity to experience both.

I came up with my partner and two other couples for a long weekend and had a blast. The beds are comfortable and the large kitchen allowed us to cook and entertain. And the space itself is so fun, historical and whimsical. It's very well appointed.

The location is great - off a main road that has food options directly across the street. It's near the river for a riverside hang sesh, near vineyard options for wine tasting and hiking in Henry Woods.

We've recently had the pleasure of attending a wedding at this location and the land lends itself so well to hosting a large group. The ceremony and reception took place down in the red woods and it was enchanting to say the least.

I highly recommend this space and property!

The Knotty Oak is one of the coolest places you will EVER stay at. I've stayed at Mary's place multiple times now, most recently for a wedding and WOW. Knotty Oak has been thoughtfully curated from the ground up. I promise you won't stay at any place like this. Totally worth it. Great spot for an event as well.

I've hosted 2 events at The Knotty Oak and the space is phenomenal. The owner was very helpful and easy to communicate with for all aspects. The location is perfect and the décor is charming. I love to cook and I personally catered both of my events and the kitchen was great for being able to host and cook onsite. I will definitely be back to TKO!!
