The Hotel Northampton is absolutely amazing. The staff, the service, the entire vibe was incredible.

The Wiggins Tavern will not disappoint with their awesome Brunch layout. You will not walk away hungry.

We hit Coolidge Park Cafe Saturday for a night cap after roaming downtown. The bartenders and waitstaff went above and beyond, as they surprised my girlfriend with a nicely decorated birthday plate and pastry. Thank you for that.

Our room, #300, offered a great view, and one could only imagine how spectacular it would be in the Fall.

We will return to The Hotel Northampton again this year, with plans to stay in one of the Gothic Garden rooms.

I have stayed at the hotel before and do love its quaint feeling. This time we stayed in the residential Junior suite because we would be in and out for 3 days at a festival. I chose this room because of the kitchenette, sitting area and the gas fireplace. |The space is cozy and comfortable but the kitchenette just has a microwave and a refrigerator. The coffee system can only be used with the available packets. There were paper and plastic cups, no coffee mugs, no silverware, not even plastic. Not a kitchenette!||The eating table that shows in the photo is not there. A desk took its place, but there are no dining chairs to be able to eat comfortably. |If you advertise a kitchenette you should supply what is needed to eat reasonably!!||I must say the gas fireplace was great, especially since we used that instead of the noisy regular heating system.||But the worst part of this room was the shower! I have never seen a shower placed on the middle wall so that to take a shower you have to face the side wall with the billowing shower curtain( also too short so water ends up on the floor).|The European type of shower that usually is flexible and removable so you can wash is screwed on the wall, but it moves back and forth so you can’t really get a great stream of water.||The water was hot enough but it was just a weird shower. If you try to move against the shower curtain billowing behind you have to be careful not to fall backward!!|I do hope they change this dangerous shower system before someone gets really hurt!!!|I think the management should take a shower there to see how strange it really is…||I don’t mind paying for extras, but I would like to get what I paid for.||On another note the restaurant was very understaffed on a Sunday evening. One relatively new waitperson was covering the dining room alone with just a host to help. There should have been at least two waitpersons, along with a bus person. The service was lacking because the waiter was covering both the upstairs and downstairs and didn’t have the ability to give the service that people required and should expect from such an old and respected hotel.|I work in the restaurant business and train both front and back of the house people, and I was embarrassed for the waiter that night. He did the best he could have but was not given the help he needed to do his job well!!||When I mentioned this situation and one other, I heard from two or three people that the management is just interim. ( so the employees are left to excuse the situation) This shows that it is time for the hotel to get their act together or people|like us who have stayed occasionally over the past twenty years will|move on to someone who clearly cares about their customers.

I just completed a very nice three night stay at this marvelous hotel. If you're looking for a Ramada Inn or even a Marriott experience then this is not an ideal spot for you. However if you wish to be transported to a time of style and grace then pack your bags for Hotel Northampton! Attention to detail is everywhere; my room was spotless and comforting. The restaurant food was excellent and reasonable. The staff pleasant and professional in a home-town kind of way. The location is ideal as is Northampton itself. The lobby will blow your mind ! I give three cheers to the owner and staff for making this Connecticut resident feel at home and well taken care of .

Garden Rooms were oddly a long walk across the parking lot. We paid extra for rooms that didn't even feel like part of the historic hotel. We would recommend staying in the main hotel building and not the separate outbuildings.

Having visited this historic hotel for 60 years, so very disappointed that the history has been erased and replaced with a corporate coldness. It is nowhere near the wonderful hotel of the past. We had significant issues with our stay, and management was completely unresponsive. Will not be returning.

The hotel has its charm and cleanliness going for it, but the check-in process was frustratingly slow, even though the agent was friendly. After that initial contact, communication was non-existent. The prices are very steep, especially given the lack of no amenities. Offering complimentary coffee would be a simple yet appreciated touch, as the one-cup coffee maker in the room is undrinkable.
I also found it rather off-putting that the hotel outlined what I could and couldn’t bring to my room; it didn’t feel very welcoming upon arrival.
Be cautious when booking with this hotel; it doesn't follow the typical standards you might expect.

I would not book again when back in the area.

The rooms are dated but that’s the style of the hotel-
Everything is clean and comfortable. We were a little cramped with the double beds but the bed size was indicated on the website…mattresses were comfortable and the restaurants were good too. Easy parking, friendly staff and convenient location.

Unfortunately we had a terrible time during our stay. The pictures of the rooms you're booking are a far cry from the reality when you get there. A very basic room with white bedding and no space at all. We were excited for room service however there's a $5 fee plus 20% automatically no matter what you order? I can see the tip but to charge an additional fee seems like a money grab. We stayed to have thanksgiving "brunch" and the food was terrible. Overly salty, way over cooked, & negligible service. The whole atmosphere felt stressful. We were so excited to start a tradition and were entirely let down.
