Kotty took the two of us down The Numbers and it was an excellent trip. He is among the most skilled guides I've had. He communicated with us throughout the trip so that we knew what to expect and how to respond to his directions, which made for a fun and safe day. He is knowledgeable about both the river and the region, answering all our questions and giving good advice on what to do during our stay. He is also a great cook! We highly recommend booking a tour through The Adventure Company.

My kids and I went rafting for our first time this afternoon. This company was awesome from the first phone call to check availability until the end when we returned our wet suits. Our guide, Tom, taught us the basics of rafting and continued to give positive feedback the entire ride. Tom shared all kinds of cool information about the river including history, animals, and cool places to camp. I highly recommend The Adventure Company for an excellent rafting experience!

Sometimes people put 5 stars because an experience is 'good enough', and sometimes it's because the experience has earned every single star. This is the latter case. We took the Pumphouse Canyon day trip, a great beginner trip for families with young kids who are just learning how to swim. The river is wide, generous and calm. Your guides may have quit terrible, soul-sucking jobs to do something they really love, which is to be on the water. And that love is contagious - they delight in pointing out interesting landmarks, wildlife, old caves, and even a natural hot spring that we got to dip in. Our guides Eric and Michael also whipped up a terrific lunch seemingly out of nothing - appetizers, delicious grilled fajitas, salad and delicious brownies smothered with peanut butter. Better than many very expensive restaurants I've been to.

The Adventure Company's website is very easy and pleasant to navigate, clear and simple, and their customer service people on the phone are extremely helpful. When you plan a trip, plan carefully for the weather and check it the night before. The river can be COLD. Bring layers, swim stuff, change of clothes, check the weather the night before, and be prepared for rain or drizzle. If you don't do it and then have a miserable time and blame the guides, well, mother nature just dealt you what you deserve.

The price is good value for the experience and the guides have at least 4 years under their belt. They are friendly and calm, and keep answering the same clueless questions from people, such as, is the river a circle? Or, do we paddle up river back to our meeting spot? (the answer is no and no, your shuttle will drop you off and then drive to a spot downriver to pick you up!) Tip them well for these hassles they endure. 😀

I hope to return to Colorado and take these rafting trips again, and again, and again.
