Beautiful! We went kayaking through the mangrove tunnels with our own kayaks but there are tons of rentals and even tours for hire. The country maintains the tunnels, and each tunnel is clearly marked. Because of this, it's not a completely natural experience, but really for this traveler it was. I appreciated the basic trail maintenance. The area is clean and well taken care of by guests and the county.

Small Park, well maintained trails.
Parking is inside and for the trails you have to come out a little bit. Check out the video I posted!

One of our favorite spots in Sarasota! Definitely not for everyone, but for someone who Who likes to walk on the wild side but still have the convenience of bathrooms and showers and of course, fishing! This is the spot highly recommend to check it out. Beautiful in every way!🐬🏖️😊👍🏻

Our family has a fantastic day at the beach here.

We arrived around 9ish am and got a nice spot at the beach and really took advantage of the many shells that were ashore.

There’s quite a lot of parking space so if you don’t want to arrive early to secure a spot, you won’t have to.

This park also has a variety of amenities; showers, kayak launch, bathrooms, kids playground, picnic tables, nature trail.

The day of our visit, the water was super clear and it was the perfect weather for boating so they were pretty much everywhere, oh and jet skis too.

Overall, it’s a beautiful beach and great park to spend all day. Highly recommend it.

Me and my family went Kayaking here yesterday and it was awesome. The water through the mangrove tunnels were no deeper then 5ft and crystal clear. We saw tons of fish, different types of birds, crabs in the trees, a large jellyfish, a small starfish by the beach and a momma and baby manatee. Definitely the most sealife we've seen in a single trip. We would definitely come back again.

Went on the Sarasota Paddle Board Company eco tour. Bobby was awesome! He was super knowledgeable about the names of the birds, the eco system, jellyfish, etc. He was very engaging. We saw a sea urchin which he caught and let us hold, he caught a jellyfish and educated us on it, pointed out tree crabs, and best of all we saw Manatee, mamma n her baby. Best kayak trip ever!! Thanks Bobby.

Love paddling from this park. Gets extremely busy with all the commercial groups, but if you arrive early on a weekday at high tide you'll have quite a treat paddling through the mangrove tunnels here. South lido key beach is also accessible from the park along with a beautiful walking trail through the mangroves

Great place to paddle! Mangrove tunnels are fun to weave through. The marked tunnels (numbered) seem to be wider and easy to navigate, while some of the side tunnels have really low clearance (like .. lay down flat on a paddle board low). It can be eerily quiet and peaceful at the same time.

The currents were not so strong that it was hard to paddle against them.
The park itself has rentals set up, but there was also plenty of space to inflate my board.

When you paddle out from the launch area, if you go to the right, you will head directly to the tunnels, and if you go to the left, you will be heading towards St. Armands. Watch out for jumping fish and stalker-ducks .. they pop up right next to you when in the more open water.

Awesome day.
