Probate office is only open on Mondays. Driver license issue is sent to Montgomery for printing and when mailed is not covered by tracking. I had to pay the same charge again after they failed to get the license to me the first time after a month. They had no idea where the process had broken down. This is incompetent and there is no excuse.
Further detail on the incompetence: $33 for a *piece of paper* that says you can drive. I wasn't the only one who had the problem of issued licenses not arriving. Instead of helping people who are not being served, this office instead has people drive 40 minutes to Montgomery with no extra assistance on exactly where to go provided. I went first to a DMV in Montgomery, waited, then got told by them I had to go to an office downtown. I went downtown and there was no public access parking garage near that office. I parked on the street by a parking meter with a dealer tag that was out of date (entirely due to said incompetence). I waited two hours at this office. When they finally figured out the status after helping me once and then sending the issue to the back office for further lookup, all this office in Montgomery would do was charge me again to mail it out again and give me a temp license that was good for 30 days. Still no offer to add postal tracking. These people should all be ashamed of themselves.
It was even worse because I had multiple changes (sold a car, bought another) which meant that the license change held up everything else. Their incompetence wouldn't be considered by them if I was pulled over.
