Do not waste your time here. I asked for a balayage and it only looked good as long as the blowout lasted. After washing it, the highlights seemed to only really be on a small layer in the front. Huge swaths were left completely dark.

Sofia argued with me about it. Refused to accommodate me making an appointment that wasn't on a Monday or Tuesday, even though I didn't want to miss work.

She finally said she would give me a partial refund and made gross comments like I am the type of client that wouldn't be happy anywhere. Even after showing pictures of how bad it looked after I washed the blow out away , she continued to double down and said I wasn't styling it correctly. I had to literally block her because she wouldn't stop arguing and refused to take responsibility.

On other bad reviews you can see her arguing with and blaming other clients who weren't happy. She doesn't have any respect for the client, and if you aren't happy, she will blame it on creative differences because she considers herself an "artist" and yet doesn't take responsibility when her "art" isn't up to par.

Edited to add: Sofia seems to think because I have one good photo of my hair immediately after it was done that justifies her not doing her job correctly. She insists I am a difficult client to please, and yet I have been 1000% satisfied literally every else I have ever been. The photos I attached were taken about a week after I got my hair done. They prove that she didn't do a good job and yet she still argues because she has no accountability and doesn't respect her clients.

She accused me of making fake profiles to make bad reviews when I did nothing of the sort. My bad review is right here with my name attached.

She ignored me after offering me a refund and only after I persisted did I finally get the money back that she had promised me. She is incompetent at doing hair and doing business. I have NEVER had a worse experience with a business.

Safe space for LGBTQIA+, woman- owned business. Salon owner Sofia is backed up by years of experience and having owned a salon of her own for years. I found Sofia warm and welcoming. She knows Asian hair- which is difficult to cut. She listens to how you want your hair done. She also does men’s hair fyi… a pixie cut will cost you $90 which includes a wash and styling. Long hair costs from $120. I love that she has longer hours compared to other salons in the same place. Appointments can be made online and yes, she does answer her phone! It’s great to still be able to speak to a human afterall… located at Sola Salons on Broadway. Convenient to grab a bite to eat before or after your appointment.

This was my first haircut in California after moving here. Was quite anxious. I had long hair and I wanted to go for a short haircut like a bob or pixie. Sofia listened to all my suggestions for the cut and assured me saying she would get me looking fabulous in no time. And boy, did she. She gave me a textured bob with some bangs. Absolutely loved the haircut. Enjoyed my time with Sofia. She makes you feel all comfortable and she even accomodated me at the last moment. I am definitely coming back here for my next cut. I’ve been going to Sofia for years for my haircuts as she always does a great job. I have very thick Asian hair and a lot of it. I finally decided to color my grays and knew I was in good hands with her. I wanted something subtle and easy to manage. She gave me a balayage to cover my grays and a beautiful butterfly haircut. I look 10 years younger! Sofia is an artist and a genius when it comes to hair!

Another fantastic appt with Sofia. Highlights, roots and a trim/layers. She's all about doing her best to not damage my hair and keep it looking healthy. Love the honesty and easy going attitude.
Side note-lots of easy/cheap parking under the theater.

Sofia is amazing! She's extremely friendly and knowledgeable about her craft. I appreciated that she listened to my concerns/wants but is honest about will work for you without being pushy. Highly recommend if you're looking for an easy going, skilled, funny, friendly hair stylist.

I’ve been going to this lovely studio right in the center of Redwood City, and it’s a gem! Parking is always easy, and Sofia consistently delivers amazing results with my color, highlights, and cut.

I have a shorter haircut that requires regular upkeep, and she always makes me look and feel great. Beyond her technical expertise, she’s fun and easy to be around, making every appointment a pleasant experience. Highly recommend her if you want excellent hair maintenance with a stylist who truly knows her craft!
