We really loved our room (2 queens + kitchenette). We visited during the polar vortex, but the proprietor had the heat turned on prior to our arrival and the room was cozy and warm. It was impeccably clean. We’ll stay at Stone Village again!

It was just what I needed. As a repeat customer, I was looking for affordability, a clean room, quiet, and walkability in town. I also love sitting in the comfortable chairs outside the room in the evening. The Stone Village Market is right there and has a nice menu of sandwiches or just that Coke you're craving.

There was 3 of us staying in one room. We requested a roll away bed and when we checked in the bed was in the room. Any thing we asked for we got with a smile. The great folks that own this place make your visit great. The market next door makes dang good breakfast burritos. Unfortunately the pandemic closed alot of the restaurants, but we saw a few food trucks working. The room was very clean. We could walk around our room barefoot and our feet wouldn't turn black. In case your wondering about the last moment, I've stayed at a verily new Hilton hotel in Lubbock that looked fancy with a bar and restaurant in it and every morning had to wash the black off of the bottom of my feet. It's because they didn't clean the carpets. Stone village is a motel that is very clean and you don't have to take out a second mortgage on your house to stay there. When we stay in Ft. Davis It's our favorite place to stay.

I hesitate writing this review but I hope it is helpful to other travelers. I stayed here on a business trip for what should have been 3 nights, but was cut short due to the discovery of bed bugs in my room. I checked for bugs when I first arrived and didn’t see any, but after my second night there I woke up covered in more than 50 very itchy and inflamed bites all over my body. Sure enough, after tearing the bed apart I found 1 adult bed bug behind the headboard (which was drilled to the wall and difficult to thoroughly search). We checked out immediately and I began the irritating and VERY stressful process of bagging all of my items to quarantine them and hopefully prevent any bugs from getting into my home. It was horrible- I have never experienced anything like that at a hotel. The owner was understanding and immediately began working on the infestation, which I respect. The room itself was comfortable and cool, and the market next door provided exceptional service. However, please be very wary when staying here (or any hotel for that matter!) and look extremely close for bugs.

I booked a camp room twice (once for my journey out, and one for my trip home) and both times were an amazing experience. The camp rooms are remarkably clean considering they're pretty open to the elements, including the famous central/west Texas wind, and I think the bed was the most comfortable I've ever slept in. The communal bathroom was also very clean, which was highly appreciated, and climate-controlled; a nice bonus. The manager clearly knows and cares about the property and the staff as well as the guests. Sadly, I saw no cats. The only downside!

I would like tripadvisor to allow half stars. Stayed for a couple of nights. Hotel is right in the middle of town, walkable to some restaurants and stores (including the local grocery store). Parking was sufficient, there was street parking and depending on the room parking in the gravel area between the front office and the rooms. Room was a good size, bed was on the firm side. No fridge or microwave, and not much space to put things on (ie there was a small table in the corner but that was it). Bathroom had no shelf space. It would have been far too cold still to brave the pool, but it was also quite small and full of leaves. Overall the hotel was comfortable enough, and convenient to local sites (not far from Fort Davis National Historical Site or the Observatory). There are not a ton of options in Fort Davis, and this is probably among the best.

Brought my granddaughter for a weekend. This is my favorite place to stay, by far. I usually travel solo and LOVE the simplicity of the camp rooms. With my granddaughter, we stayed in room 5. It has 2 rooms and the bathroom. Bedroom has 2 beds, a TV., a desk with chair, a place to hang clothes and set a suitcase and 2 side tables with lamps. There are also 2 windows on the front side and a small window on the back side, along with a wall installed AC/heat unit.|The other room has a small dining table with 2 chairs, kitchen countertop with sink, microwave, coffee maker and (old style) TV. There is also a mini-frig.|Both rooms have a ceiling fan.|The bathroom has a tub/shower combo.|Very functional and nicely laid out. |Still my favorite place 😁
