Stem Rock is a fantastic little hidden gem here at Oxley! We love hiking out to the Rock for a picnic or just to catch the sunset colors. Trail is always clear and easy to hike. We always carry out any trash we find, but there's never more than a piece or two, sometimes none at all. Bit of good rock climbing for littles or beginners. Lots of great exploring around the Rock! Great overlook for the autumn colors, too.
Edit on 3-27-24 A while back I made a hewn log bench to take to Stem Rock. Got it delivered and set in place right at the edge of the woods where shade meets sun. Excellent views while you rest.

Not for driving vehicles through. Signs state walk through, horse back riding, or bicycle. 1.5 mile round trip. Very quiet and serene. Trail can be a little muddy but there are places to walk around the mud. Very enjoyable afternoon adventure.

Good signs till we got to the park. The road to the rocks is getting a bit rough with lots of standing water and getting overgrown with brush. We drove in our passenger car a ways then parked at a wide spot and walked on in. Glad we did. It was a beautiful forest walk. We weren’t sure if we were on the right road but kept going and found the rocks at the end of the road.

Unusual rock formations but no view as trees grown and blocking view sadly. Natural walk to rocks, no entry fee.

3/4 mi linear trail. (1.5 out & back) To top of billowy rocks and stem rock. Under the bluff line is cool too. Lots of alcoves and small cave areas.
