This is one of my favorite places to visit. Highland Lakes Campground is absolutely gorgeous. Cool weather and tons of wildflowers in the summer. Be prepared for a long, winding drive though. Also no cellphone service or any kind of businesses/gas/food within a reasonable distance. So don’t forget anything.

What a way to start summer officially, though my summer in India was already half the way over.

I needed to find a place that was not within Yosemite (needed permit), but in the mountains and at least a good two hour drive from Dublin so that I can enjoy the drive and get a good trek. This place is perfect. Not too far, not too close, lovely early morning chill, and well maintained trail.

A great tourist attraction. It may be compared to Yosemite National Park. Make sure you have enough gas. Enjoy beautiful forests, rocks, mountains, and streams.

I live in Twain Harte, and it is in the Stanislaus National Forest. Best place to live for 14 years now. Lots to see and to. My favorite lake is Pinecrest Lake.

Beautiful national forest! High variety of everything, mountains, meadows, streams, etc. Be cautious of the road however, they are VERY dangerous. Use EXTREME caution, especially whilst turning.
