My family has traveled the US, and let me just tell you this place is a hidden gem! Hiking and swimming are some of my favorite things to do at this park, but it's also great for horse rides and bird watching. The Indian baths and rich history here are fantastic if you're into that kind of thing!

The water is so pretty, fishing is good, they have a small playground, there’s outdoor bathrooms.

BUT if you’re looking to stay.. the larger cabins are so dirty. Our bedroom door didn’t lock, the bathroom door had a hole in it where there used to be a lock so it didn’t lock and so you also didn’t have full privacy while showering or using the toilet. The walls/doors all need to be gone over with a magic eraser or something and some kind of flooring put down because it looks like painted plywood. The couch was also SO dirty. The outside of these cabins are decent so I was shocked at the inside of them. There’s no table either, so you have to eat outside at a picnic table.

One more thing worth mentioning; if you have small kids, please do not put them on the bunk beds in the larger cabins as there are no side rails at all and this is a huge safety issue as the beds were at least 6 ft tall.

The small cabins have outdoor showers with spiders/spider eggs sacks.

Not trying to be ugly at all with this post. But pictures of these cabins need to be posted online so people can see what they’re paying for.

No, I don’t expect these to be immaculate but they could at least not be visibly dirty.
The cabins need some attention and there needs to be transparency online about the shape they’re in on the inside.

Absolutely love this place!!!!

The history this place has to offer is outstanding!!!

The camp sites are very clean and the bath houses are as well!

The swimming area is beautiful and the views on the hiking trails are breathtaking!

I can not wait to take my kayak here to try out the fishing but I do know there are blue channel cats, bass and bream.

This was the first capital of Alabama!!!

It has a trail with “Indian baths” down the trail and that was an absolute blast for the little one.

The water is CRYSTAL clear!

I 110% recommend checking this place out!

If you have horses you can ride them on the trails as well.

Interesting park with good features and a lot of history. The directional signage for the trail leading through the old St. Stephens town site needs some updating and the trails definitely need some work. Grass was high and fallen trees were in the way in places. The Indian Baths and their little waterfalls are very cool!

First and foremost it's almost a hidden gem. I didn't know about it till a guy from work said something about it. I got the itch to go find it for myself and explore and boy am I glad I did. It's off the beaten path a bit but worth it. Sitting on an old town that was once one of Alabama's first Territory this park is really nice. From the water to the hike on the trail, that hike is very nice leading on to the cliffs. We stopped and sat down on them which gave way to some of the best views in the park. The water is a beautiful color. There is even a little beach to hangout in the sun and go swimming. You can camp here, tent and RV. There is fishing if you're into that. It's easy to spend all day and even a night or two here because it's absolutely beautiful. Glad I took the chance and got to explore it. Definitely one you need to see for yourself. The Pics can only say too much.

This Park was great. Most of the stuff was shut down right now due to covid-19. But it was still beautiful. I will definitely be going back again with my family. We had such a wonderful time.

This was a very fun place for a hike with the kids. They have a lake with a beach front for swimming. There's a really cool Indian bath area along one of the trails.
