Great place to stay! Super cozy and clean. Loved the complimentary microwave and fridge, very helpful! The pool was nice and so were the people. I would definitely stay here again!

My 9 yo daughter and I went on one of the scenic tours. We started at 1 PM and ended around 3 PM. We called ahead and talked to Marsha. She was very nice and helpful. She called me back a few times to coordinate timing and gave me all of the information I needed.

You have to buy your tickets for the tour at the Harvard Hotel in downtown Ft. Davis. The receptionist was sick, so the owner and manager of the ranch, Kerith, was who we bought our tickets from. She was kind and friendly. Apparently pretty humble too because I had no idea she owned the whole thing.

It's a 15 minute drive from downtown Ft. Davis to the ranch. The gravel road is pretty bumpy but they prepared us for that.

Roy, Kerith's husband, gave us the tour. If I could give it more stars I would. They treated us like family. We learned about the animals, plants, landscape and history of the ranch. This included everything from wild west bear hunting to Harvard University space research.

I absolutely recommend this for families but make sure you pack food and wear sunblock. They provided water and Gatorade for us.

Had the privilege of introducing this ranch to a few friends that joined us for my wife's birthday this weekend. As always, Kareth, Roy and James made us feel right at home-the kitchen was a blessing-thanks Roy!! We plan on visiting again when the weather warms up a bit. One of our kids even took some great graduation pictures out there. Thanks again to the Sproul/Hurley family for showing the Salcido family love!

The road is pretty rough going in, keeping speeders at bay. Once you arrive, the view is fantastic and the rooms are rustic and perfect!

We stayed here one night after a Star Party at the Macdonald Observatory and we loved it! The room was very clean and modern, yet rustic enough to feel like you are on a ranch. There were many amenities, but unfortunately, since we were here only one night, we were not able to take advantage of them. Therefore, we have decided to return! Looking forward to coming back!

Staying at the H.E Sproul was like staying with family. The home cooked food for our hunting trip was amazing. If you want to get an amazing Aoudad, book with them. If you just want an amazing rustic suite with peace and quiet, the lodge is just that. Thank you to all that made our trip so memorable.

The facilities are impeccably clean, the staff is tremendously accommodating and make you feel right at home! The views are stunning, and the price for the lodging was not unreasonable. Our only "complaint" is that there isn't much to do (for free) on the ranch or in the area. The pool was very nice, but cold during spring break time period. Driving around the Davis Mtns was an excellent experience, but pretty pricey. Attending a Star Party at McDonald Observatory was a huge bonus, but they aren't always available (be sure to check first). Taking the ranch tour was very expensive, but in hindsight we thought it was worth the price. We were looking for a quiet, relaxing, scenic vacation in a very out-of-the-way area; and that's exactly what we got. However, if you're looking for something to do (anything to do), you might want to reconsider. Very little (outside of very comfortable accommodations and a very friendly staff) is included in the price. Even just a shooting range we could have used or some trails we could've hiked would've greatly enhanced the experience for us. But there's none of that on-site, and very little like that in the area (that we could find). However, we still give it 5 stars and hope to return for a hunting trip some day! It was the perfect way to spend the middle of our trip, when we just wanted to spend a few days relaxing and taking a break from doing the usual touristy things in other parts of Texas before and after. Highly recommend Sproul Ranch!
