I highly recommend that anyone interested in 5K events try a Sommer Sports 5K. Stephanie, Michelle, and the rest of the Sommer Sports team organized a fantastic 5K at Ichetucknee Springs State Park on March 16th. It was the first 5K Ichetucknee Springs had in years and they set a stellar example. They ensured the running route was properly marked and well lit (they placed lights on the darker areas of the trail - the race started at 7:00 AM when it was still decently dark) and placed staff at several parts of the route to ensure competitors were going the right direction. Staff also provided competitors with water to grab on the go.

Overall, the event was so well organized and their team was so engaged. Once you cross the finish line, they announce your name and offer drinks and snacks to you - they also give additional awards to those who placed in the top 3 of their age category (competitors automatically receive a t-shirt and medal once they complete the race). On the back of your runner tag, there is a QR code you can scan after the race to see your results too! I will definitely be running in a Sommer Sports 5K again.

They are an amazing and accepting race event coordinator! My husband and I alternate running almost all their races. Excellent after race festivities and their medals always set the bar

Fun themed races. Whether it's a 5K or triathlon, there are various events to choose from. Beginner? it is ok! Great first timer friendly courses. Medals and shirts and post race fun make their races memorable.

Just ran my event with this company doing the work to put it together and they were incredible! Well planned and laid out. Easy for a first timer to know where to go and what to do. High energy by everyone working there. Highly recommend to anyone looking to do a run in this area...look these folks up and do one of theirs.

All comments are specifically about the duathlon portion of this event.
START: A race email assigned wave starting positions. There were no waves set up and this change was never communicated. Furthermore, the race was started by someone calling out without a mic. He was drowned out by the triathlon announcer who was using a mic and had turned up the music "loud enough so the swimmers in the lake can hear it."
TIMING: Reusable timing straps were grossly inaccurate and an entire section was missing.
MARKING: First leg of duathlon had no clear directional sign. No staff positioned on the bike route at multiple different stop signs to assure safe passage. Large stretches of the bike route were unmarked.
MEDAL: No mention of the duathlon is on the medal or lanyard. BeInspiring is misspelled on the lanyard.

Overlooked and sloppy are the best words to describe the duathlon. The focus is definitely the triathlon and 5K. Despite submitting correct times, as directed, as of this review the times are still not corrected.
