Skipjack Resort & Marina - Marathon, Florida

We had a great stay at Skipjack. We were fortunate to stay in their new villas that had a full kitchen which made it awesome for the nights we were too tired to go out for dinner. The quality of the new construction was great. The onsite food was good. The kids loved the pool, although you need to go early most days to secure a seat. It's an hour and a half from Key West which makes a day trip doable and there are plenty of places locally to eat. The continental breakfast was average. The service and the willingness of the staff to go above and beyond was fantastic. We would highly recommend this place and will certainly be back.

Such a cute little hotel! The front desk employees were amazing. They were very friendly and helpful! The rooms could have been cleaned better, there was dust all over our headboard, however that isn’t necessarily a deal breaker. I just cleaned it off myself. The floors definitely needed to be cleaned better though. Our feet were black from walking around on them.
The breakfast was great. Eggs and bacon made to order. And a great waffle maker!
The pool area was also great.

The reason for the 4/5 vs a 5/5 is due to the uncleanliness of the room. Also, there was a problem with our hot water but the front desk employee walked us through how to fix it. Minor inconvenience, still an inconvenience though. Other than that, we enjoyed our stay!

While it is an older resort, they are visibly updating and it was a wonderful stay. Every member of the staff went out of their way to say hello each day. Our room was quite nice and affordable, especially for the area. The bar and restaurant were basic but the food was fine, basic and filling.
We definitely would return and we're happy with our stay

This is the place we choose to stay in the Keys! We always enjoy ourselves. We have done day excursions and have stayed mostly on property. It provides great appeal for many purposes. As a middle Key it is an easy drive up and down the Keys to explore all the amazing sights to see. The Resort is great, staff friendly and always helpful! It will not disappoint!

Rooms were great. Had minor issue with AC which was fixed quickly. Towel exchange spotty. Recommend bringing own beach and pool towels. Lighting on tennis courts was not working, and no one knew how to turn on. Pickleball nets were suspect. We had brought our pickleball equipment and did not play. Pool was outstanding. Due to health concerns, neither of us drink alcohol, and the virgin strawberry daiquiri was great. We did grill, and the propane grills worked well. The activity shed was maned hit or miss. We did use the complimentary beach chairs at Sombrero Beach several times. That was wonderful . Don't be afraid of restaurant on site. Was quite good with responsive and enthusiastic service. This is not beach front, and balcony overlooked the parking lot. Entrance to room faces the dock.

From the minute we checked in to the day we left, we couldn’t have asked for a better stay. The staff was friendly and helpful, the room was like a small apartment with everything you need. The bed was comfortable. They have a bar and restaurant with great staff and food. We will definitely be back again!

We were very happy with our stay at Skipjack. We wanted to visit 3 National Parks during our visit and this was probably the best location. There was also plenty to see and places to eat in Marathon. The unit was clean and comfortable. We would stay here again.

The staff was wonderful! The food was delicious, a little bit cool, but we had a great time. It would be great if they had activities around the pool, such as Yoga and Zumba. Lynne, was awesome getting everyone to participate in art activities… highly recommend this place. ☺️
