A jewel of a performance location. We attended the first annual Bluegrass festival in early August. Although billed as 3 hours, it was an 8 hour band-filled jam. Topped off with a swirling pink and magenta sunset behind the stage, silhouetted by the rolling hills. They have a somewhat decent snack bar w beer and wine. Convivial crowd of adoring CA Bluegrass Association members, enthusiastically rewarded riffing performers. Idyllic!

I would not recommend the trail from Scotts Peak Trail Head straight east towards downtown Orinda in late April/May. Hikers coming the opposite direction warned of a baby mountain lion a half mile up, so I was little bit on edge. Also, about a solid 1.5 miles or so of tall grass made jogging impossible (looking at some pictures, this might be a seasonal problem, in which case I would give another star). That said, beautiful views. If you go, wear long pants and bring a friend.

Great views. Decent amount of wildlife and well regulated by rangers. Trails can get a bit muddy.

We weren’t planning on stopping here, as our plans had changed a couple of times. Lucky ? for us it was a clear day, and I loved the view of the bay and the bridge. I would have missed it if it wasn't for Google Maps. Absolutely gorgeous!

We got lost, ended up taking a beautiful scenic route. Driving through woods one min, then suddenly turning a corner.... BAM!! A STUNNING view over the bay. It was silenced . I had no clue we were so high. And it was so vast... You could see into San Francisco
