I can't say enough good things about my experience with Sierra Mac River Trips! Our guide, Tom, was absolutely incredible. As a beginner from Dallas, TX, I was a bit nervous at first, but Tom's reassurance and clear instructions put me at ease. He made sure we were well-prepared and safe, which was so important given that this was a Class 5 trip on the Tuolumne River! Thanks to Tom's guidance, neither my friend Chad nor I fell out of the boat, and we had the time of our lives. The thrill and beauty of this river adventure were beyond anything I could have imagined. If you're visiting Yosemite , the 2-hour drive is absolutely worth it for this unforgettable experience. Highly recommended!

Sierra Mac is a family run business with skilled rafting guides—many with decades of experience rafting some of the craziest rivers in the world. After climbing and hiking in Yosemite for a few days, my brothers and I were looking for a water adventure and learned that Cherry Creek is a tributary of the Tuolumne River as well as one of the steepest commercially guided rivers in the country.

Sierra Mac outfitted us with a PFD, wetsuit, and helmet, gave us a paddling refresher lesson and administered a swim test (yes, there is a swim test and yes the water is cold even in August—this adventure is not for the faint of heart!)

We had a great time with our guide, Smiles, who expertly navigated us through 7 class fives (and many other serious rapids!) safely and without any involuntary swimming!

No doubt it was the most intense 9 miles that I have ever spent on water, and while nothing at this level is without risk, the guides clearly train hard and know their stuff; Marty, the owner, has a long history with this unique river and the experience was nothing short of unforgettable.

I had the most epic adventure down the Tuolumne River as a solo guest! I loved everything about this trip! From the start the owner Tom was accommodating and communicative with my booking. My river guides Jackson and Zach were very knowledgeable, making me feel very safe at every moment, they were very kind, helpful, great energy and great vibes! CANNOT SAY ENOUGH GREAT THINGS about this trip!!! There were 10 of us on this trip - none of us had rafting experience - and every single one of us came out of this trip wanting to do it again!!! Our guides, Brandon, Stephen, and Jacob were extremely professional and friendly - their expertise truly made me feel safe and in very, very capable hands. Thank you so much Tom, for hiring such a great crew and to Juan who took so many beautiful photos!!!
The scenery is phenomenal, the safety “training” was helpful, lunch was tasty, and the rafting was exhilarating!!! A huge thank you to Sierra Mac and to the lady river, Tuolumne ? for making this an incredibly memorable Memorial weekend!!!!

We had an amazing experience!! Our guides Bohdie and Andrew were excellent. Highly recommend the overnight camping trip! It was so much fun. They were excellent cooks as well. We ate first class!!

Went for a bachelor party in May...after all the Sierra snow melt. We showed up and the owner said "you boys ready to raft at 9000 cfs?"

We had an incredible time. Our guide Brandon was extremely skilled, navigating around the deepest and most volatile holes but still directing us into huge waves to get the thrills we all paid for. At one point, he steered us into a massive wave, and as we got drenched, he shouted "GET SOME!!"

During breaks in the action, I could only think just how lucky I am to be in this incredibly gorgeous place with my closest friends.

Very highly recommended. Sierra Mac balances safety with thrills perfectly.

AMAZING!!!!! We ended up with Serra Mac after originally booking with their sister company, but I could not be happier with the way it all turned out. Tom and Marty, who own the company are extremely accommodating and go out of their way to make sure your trip meets your expectations. They even allowed us to park our Jeep and camp out at their headquarters!

We upgraded our trip in the switch from our original booking to included Cherry Creek which is a Class V rapid and I was very anxious to say the least about getting into the water. Our first day we were with Mags on the lower Tuolumne, and even when I fell out of the boat Mags made me feel extremely safe while we were on the water. Before each rapid she would explain exactly what to expect and how we would proceed to ensure everyone stayed safe. Not only did her expertise in managing the raft shine, she was incredibly knowledgeable about the history of the River, the culture, and the wildlife. She is truly a phenomenal River guide.

Our second day was a lot more intense on the Cherry Creek but Adam did an exceptional job prepping us for each rapid. Our team struggled a little with some vital strokes like turning right and left and back-pedaling, so any chance Adam got he had us practice until we all felt confident. His years of experience on the River shined as we navigated through some scary situations. Adam is an asset to this company, making everyone feel safe while also ensuring everyone is having a good time.

The entire trip was an amazing! While I am partial to Mags and Adam because we spent most of our time with them, all of the staff is top notch!

10/10 would absolutely recommend!

Exhilarating - not just the river but the experience provided by these great Guides/Outfitter. I took four novice groomsmen down the Class V Main during a massive April flow post-storm and instead of holding our hands, Tom taught the neophytes how to conquer. A core memory no doubt, highly recommend you put the fear of god into your soul through Sierra Mac River Trip! Abandon all hope, ye who enter.
