This property was perfect for our group—just a short walk to Mississippi Street with a great coffee shop, Albina Press, right next door. Having a parking spot was ideal to travel around the city by car. Check-in and check-out were seamless, and the hosts were wonderful to work with! If you are looking for a spot to stay in the Mississippi district this is the one!

Shift Vacation Albina was incredible for hosting our first family reunion, for folks from all over the U.S.! We chose it for its convenient location near many Portland favorites, yet cozy neighborhood feel and easy parking.

The kids loved the darts, extra outdoor toys, and 3 big tables —perfect for all-day games and snack buffet. The grown-ups especially appreciated the grill, shed space for bikes, and baby furniture... plus the excellent sound insulation that allowed grandparents to enjoy conversations indoors while the kids let loose outside!

Favorite weekend walks included Rico’s Tacos food truck and Albina Press coffee shop right on the same block, Peninsula Park for its peak rose bloom, Unthank Park for kickball, and Mississippi Avenue (including Prost & Cuba) for delicious food and drinks.

The owners, Michelle and Klaas, are extremely helpful and friendly — from answering questions before we even booked, to helping us after checkout when we needed to retrieve a forgotten item.

Several family members asked us to book this space again for future gatherings — and honestly, we can't think of a single reason not to. 🙂

What a beautiful home and a great place to visit. Michelle was a terrific hostess and both houses were wonderful. We loved spending time in the courtyard between them. It's hard to imagine another place that could so comfortably accommodate 12 people in style.

This place was great! Had all the extras, great upcoming neighborhood. Our softball girls loved the food trucks, restaurants, ice cream, coffee bar and Moberi within walking distance 😊.

Amazing stay in a fantastic location. We had a grown up slumber party girls weekend and front break was perfect for the four of us. Cozy and comfy, great area of Portland to base in, every amenity you might need (bring your own throw blankets if you want to snuggle, one of the gals mentioned wishing for one). It was absolutely perfect for us.

Our stay in the Mississippi District was wonderful! We rented both the Front Break and Back Break houses for our large Thanksgiving family gathering and they did not disappoint. The homes are located in walking distance to lovely coffee shops, stores and parks with easy parking in the driveway, neighboring lot and street. Just spent 4 days at this property. Perfect for a girls weekend! Loved the area and the space for 5 adults. Very clean…the kitchen was stocked with everything you need. Great walking distance to a cute coffee shop. We were sad to leave.

We rented both High Gear and Low Gear for a family reunion weekend. Excellent units with enough room for our crew of 9 adults and 7 kids. Having two separate units was great for when someone needed a break from the activity. When you're in the downstairs unit, you can't hear what's going on in the upstairs unit. Both were well-appointed, clean, and had comfortable beds. Check-in and communication was smooth. No yard for kids to run around in, but there was a large patio and it was only 1/2 mile to a big park with a playground and dog park. The location is excellent for exploring the Alberta Arts District and convenient to other parts of the city. Would highly recommend for anyone visiting Portland!
