Extremely Disappointed – Negligence and Lack of Accountability

I had a terrible experience with this travel agency. They failed to issue my return ticket from Turkey to Los Angeles, leaving me stranded at the airport. Despite having paid in full and receiving a confirmed itinerary, there was no actual ticket issued for my return flight. I had to purchase a last-minute ticket for over $800 out of my own pocket to get home.

I contacted the agency immediately upon my return, and they promised a reimbursement. However, despite multiple follow-ups, I have received no refund and no further communication.

This level of negligence and lack of accountability is unacceptable. I strongly advise others to avoid this agency to prevent similar distressing experiences.

I had a very unpleasant experience with Shahrzad Travel. I wish I could give them zero stars because they don’t even deserve one. My uncle ,who is 78 years old, was sold an overpriced ticket, and when he had to cancel, they deducted almost 40% of the fare. When I asked for a breakdown of the charges, the agent hung up on both me and my uncle—multiple times. Extremely rude and completely unprofessional. I would not recommend them to anyone.

This business is a fraud they charged us double for a vegas trip. Promised two nights ticket to the concert we arrived there was only one night ticket and they are denying the refund. Worst business not recommending at all

Horrible experience with this travel agency and in particular Ms.Shahrzad herself. Customer service and professionality is a none existing and she is completely out of touch with booking system, Air fairs and voucher regulations. We were charged $200 for an Air Fair voucher to be used at the airport for extra Luggage piece which turned out to be not honored by the Airline at all ! when we tried to get a reimbursement , she denied the charges and referred us to the Airline. (Process still pending after 10 days )I believe as a travel agency ,the company is responsible for the information and booking procedure from A-Z as they earn commission on every ticket and services offered.
A fact that this particular agency is obviously unaware of.

HAVE REALISTIC EXPECTATIONS.
Shahrzad Travel is your typical old fashioned legacy travel agency. The owner is over 80 years old, to expect someone over 80 be an avid content up-loader about the latest deals on TikTok or Instagram with SnapChat avatars every 15 minutes is a bit unrealistic. This is the first thing to consider.
And no it doesn't have it's own website where people can make reservations online directly either. Nor does she have any independent contractor staff of remote workers from India or the Philipines available 24/7 to help with customer service like ASAP tickets, or Priceline or Cheap Tickets. She is pretty much the one 80+ year old woman operation.
The Second thing you should consider is this is a business that targets a very specific demographic, the Iranian-American demographic (mostly older ones), almost all business is conducted between tickets from America going to Iran and vice-versa.
However, here are a few tips in which you can use to make the most of your patronage at this travel agency, especially considering it's accessible location:
(1) If you need to get a passport fast, or a passport card fast, or you need to get a visa and you need a flight itinerary or a hotel booking, (For a Fee, which makes perfect sense, it's a service after all). She can provide that for you.
(2) Whatever deals you find on the internet, (REMEMBER, DO YOUR HOMEWORK, DON"T JUST LOOK AT THE PRICE AND RUN WITH IT, look at what class ticket it is, how many checked-in luggage is allowed, flexibility, ect.) write does down or print that itinerary and come to her office and tell her to type up itinerary and believe me 8 to 9 times out of 10 you will get a price close to what you found on the website, with those conditions. Especially if Iran is the plan.
(3) If you need prints of documents, (Color or Black and White), she can provide that for you for a fee.
(4) If you are serious about traveling to Iran, touring Iran, would like to arrange an itinerary, with the same approach on the second tip, you may have success putting together an itinerary for a Iran tour.
IMPORTANT NOTE: The Last time I visited this establishment was 3 years ago!

I have a feeling my review last year was deleted. Giving one star to this agency is just a pity. They don't deserve one at all. The agent started pleasant and sweet. Later on, she got shady and made up a new policy every time to extort VICTIMS financially. If you would ask a question or any inquiry, she would snap and yell at you. I got a better deal with ORBITZ. Thankfully, my bank was able to work with the airlines. I got my money back. My only suggestion for future victims, RUN!!!!!

Bad attitude, horrible customer service and extremely rude to her employees. Ms. Shahrzad needs to take a seat and think really hard about how she could manage her business better. There’s a reason why her rating is low. I’ve been yelled at by her because she couldn’t juggle phone calls, customer complaints, and her business at the same time. I’ve heard other customers get yelled at while I was on hold. At one point she mentioned how she has a lot on her plate since her employees quit.
