Boardwalk closed and no cave entrance allowed. However, it is beautiful and incredible to see even from a distance. The Park Ranger in the temporary visitor center was very knowledgeable and friendly. He shared that they've mapped 7 miles of the cave so far! Only researchers are allowed into the cave, which made us less disappointed that we couldn't see much. Still glad we stopped, and the kids got Junior Ranger booklets to complete and mail in later.

Very disappointed when I got to the park to find out you cannot go anywhere near the cave nor could you buy anything from the gift shop because of technical issues they’ve experienced for over a week with their credit card processing. Not sure why the park is even open at this point. They should just close it until everything is fixed. Drove two hours round trip, what a waste of my time.

Some of boardwalk going into the cave is blocked off as it needs repair but you can still see the beauty from the outside. You can take another hike to check out the park. The sinkhole isn’t far to check out. The visitors center has info about wildlife as well as the history and some souvenirs to buy.

Sadly the visitor center was closed. They have a temporary one set up. Not too much to see. The cave was interesting. You cannot go in it. Short walk to it. The hiking path was closed down to a tree taking out the entrance. Don’t go left leaving that road isn’t much fun.

Very nice stroll down to the cave with a sinkhole detour. Definitely worth a visit. The trail was nice with great views.

Visited this national monument while visiting other places. The main visitor cent was closed due to renovation and the pathway that leads inside the cave was closed due to foundation issues. Apart from this there is a small hike up and down the mountain. We and the kids 7&3yr old made up and down the mountain. The temp visitor center is located on the right that looks like a house to your right as you enter the park. The ranger was knowledgable and answered all of our questions and my kid was able to complete the ranger program of this park.

This is currently under reconstruction. There is not much to see. The boardwalk is closed just a short way in. The Visitor Center is also closed for renovations. The ranger on site was extremely rude inside the temporary visitors center and gave no information except that the map was on the wall. It's definitely not the NPS experience I'm used to.

A nice little stop, it will be nicer when the main visitors center is able to open again within a couple of months.
The walk to the cave was on a boardwalk and not to far. There is also hiking available.
North Alabama is beautiful country!
