This place is a fun place to go for the weekend. Plenty of things to do. Fishing, canoeing, take your boat out, playing in the lake or kicking back on your tube. Hacienda campground just got their bathrooms redone. They’re in the process of doing the other one. Rv Sites have electric and water. I really enjoy this place.

Great RV and campsite State Park. Although the Park is undergoing some upgrading it does not diminish the beauty and scenic views of the Park. With the snow capped Mount Graham as it's southern view scale makes for a wonderful backdrop. Roper Lake has day use camp sites with toilet facilities makes for a better experience. One can fish year round for bass, catfish, bluegill and seasonal trout.

Arizona has wonderful state parks & campgrounds. We loved Roper Lake State Park. Not as busy as others and had spacious sites with lake views. Loved hearing the red-winged blackbirds and coots call. We had decent wi-fi here. We had 50 amp power and water, but no sewer hook-up. Sani-dump was available. We had site 17. Site was spacious with mountain and lake views. Our site was clean and raked with a picnic ramada. Rangers were helpful. There were a number of hiking trails which provided elevated views of the area. Or you could follow the level trail around the lake. This was our second visit and we look forward to returning.

The first thing we went to when arriving at the park was the hot spring. It was my first experience with a hot spring. The water was warmer then expected. We went on the hike near the spring. There are some pretty views of the lake and the mountain. We were able to do the hike easily with our 7 and 5 year old kids.

Friendly, affordable, accessible, and filled with the desert's beauty - they have everything you could want in a high desert getaway. We first parked our motor home between a huge mesquite & a gazebo covered picnic table, before moving closer to the lake where we can listen to the ducks. There's cabins if you're interested, and a picturesque path between them & the showers. The Rangers are helpful and friendly and shopping in nearby Safford/ Thatcher is a delight - the prices are well below what I'm used to. Just be ready for everyone to say hello. This is the very best of small town life.

So beautiful. Lots of wildlife. Clean bathrooms. The cabins were clean, the porch was big with an attached food prep area with a sink and grill. Fire pit. You can buy wood at the gift shop. The hot spring is closed and filled in with dirt. But it's just gorgeous and the rv/tent campsites are very nice too with a brick Ramada and picnic table. Electric hookups and a dump site for rv's. Beautiful scenery. Just Gorgeous. Cabins were clean. Smaller then the ones at Kartchner, without the college sized fridge or microwave. The porch area is huge with a swing, and it has a food prep area outside next to the grill with a sink. The hot spring/tub is filled with dirt and out of commission. The swimming area is open though. The bathrooms are a bit of a walk from the cabins, but there are chemical toilets closer. The beds are hard...like they are just box springs... We will be back. It's just so beautiful and relaxing. Lots of wildlife. Highly recommend.

We took our 2 year old to Roper and stayed in the cabins. The cabins sit along the lake edge and the view is beautiful day or night. We love seeing the variety of birds, wildlife and peacefulness of Roper. We took a well cleared hike around the lake. Toward the evening, we relaxed in the hot springs in Roper. The camp fire is outside the cabin and is a perfect way to end the evening. I highly recommend Roper. The Rangers are always around and there to help.
