RL Sisson Events is the answer to your prayers. We retained Rachel’s services to plan our Welcome Party and wedding in July 2021 and it was easily the single best decision we made in planning these events. We love Bar Harbor but planned our wedding celebration in 6 months from 5 hours away. Rachel is experienced, professional, available, and a joy to work with. She has strong relationships with the vendors on the island which seemed to make us VIP customers wherever we went. I so appreciated Rachel’s ability to support us in making our own decisions while also being available for her counsel when we needed it. Getting married in Bar Harbor was a dream of ours. She somehow brought our dreams into reality in ways that far exceeded our expectations. Rachel made the process stress free and easy. Not only is she fantastic at what she does, she’s an awesome person and a wonderful person to have around. She became our biggest cheerleader during the wedding planning process. Her staff is wonderful as well. During our wedding reception, some of the guests were in direct sunlight (as it was an outdoor wedding). She and her staff went above and beyond to hang table linens to temporarily shade our guests. Rachel’s staff was just as professional, hard working, and lovely to work with as she was. I feel incredibly lucky that we were able to work with Rachel. If you have any hesitation on whether or not you need RL Sisson events, I hope I’ve convinced you.

Hiring Rachel was the best and most important decision we made for our wedding! She truly went above and beyond for us and we are so grateful. She kept us organized and on schedule, her design expertise and attention to detail was perfect, and her creative direction was invaluable. I'm a wedding photographer who has worked with Rachel Sisson on several weddings, and she's easily my favorite planner to work with (and I've worked with many, many planners in Maine!). Not only are her weddings gorgeous, but she handles and fixes all situations, big or small, with such a calm, easygoing demeanor. You need Rachel in your corner during the planning process and on your big day- she manages to make any wedding day feel easy (when those of us in the business know that weddings are often complicated, with many moving parts). If we could recommend one partner in our entire wedding planning, it would be Rachel. She is the most organized, calm, cool, thoughtful person, and she was so integral in bringing our wedding together. We had a long engagement, and we booked Rachel about a year and a half before our wedding date. She balanced the most amazing organizational skills with a relaxed attitude, and she helped us prioritize our list of tasks. She also is close with all of the MDI wedding companies, and is constantly speaking with BHCC, Salt Farm Flowers and others which made the whole process feel more unified. Rachel really picked up her involvement in the ~six weeks before our wedding, and she was an absolute savior the week of our wedding. There were so many last minute curveballs, and Rachel took care of all of them, often without us even knowing. Every time we told a vendor that Rachel was our planner, they responded “oh you’re in the best hands.” She’s someone we loved getting to spend time with, and our wedding would absolutely not have been the same without her. She’s truly the best, and we are so grateful that we found her. Would strongly recommend her to any newly engaged couple in the MDI area!
