Beautiful hike over rivers and nice summit. Most is mostly level ground but good 500 foot elevation gain at the end over about 10 minutes definitely gets the heart pumping. Thankful this is so close to home, will definitely do again.

It’s a moderate 2.5 miles trail loop with a good view from the peppercorn hill overlook. Takes about an hour to do the loop around. Beautiful trails with a summit view.

Trails are easy to follow and well marked. There are a lot of boulders, especially on decent. But all parts of the trail are easily navigable and major intersections are clearly marked. This is definitely a local gem.

Great hiking area for the Milford/Blackstone Valley region, maybe even the best when it comes to viewpoints. The summit itself is a great spot for sunsets. Some of the trails are hard to follow, but staying on the marked loop trail the whole way is very easy to follow!

Living on this lake the past couple years has been quite the experience. I’ve had some of the best summer and winter days here. I have seen some of the most beautiful sunsets of my life and love our view of the conservation area.

As a local hiking area Peppercorn Hill is quite a nice place for a hike that doesn’t require a long drive. Not like being in the White Mountains but as a recurring fitness hike it does just fine. Trails are easy to follow and well marked. There is a good trail map at the trailhead on Crockett rd and a small parking area. I met several people along my 4 mile weekend hike. All were friendly and courteous. During the week you can expect the trail traffic will be light. There are a lot of boulders and trail footing can be challenging so use caution, especially on decent.

Great hike, about 2.5 miles. Autumn leaf drop was heavy making it a bit treacherous walking. 4/5 stars as someone has left a futon on the trail.
