Compassionate people are so good for the patients and PAM has lots of compassionate employees. I don’t believe all reviews, I believe what honest people write, you don’t give a place a bad review because of a bad moment. Talking & working with the caretakers there or anywhere goes a long way. We need more health places that want to truly be there for their patients, Pam is definitely working hard at it. Trust me if you ever have a loved one that needs long term acute care I would 💯 recommend PAM.
You’re always going to have a bad apple here & there but for the past 3 .5 weeks I have not had a bad apple , just that some apples are much sweeter than others but they all work very hard, I know I made the right decision, choosing PAM. First just take the time to get to know the workers & address your concerns , don’t stay quiet & get angry , believe me they do truly care.

My main concern with my Dad's stay was the fact that being a diabetic and being on a diabetic diet he was given food outside the restrictions of it which caused his bloodsugar to sky rocket.
The staff asked him why he was eating certain kinds of foods cookies ice cream etc. I said to them why were they giving these foods to him in the first place if he is on a restricted diet?
There were a couple of times where when he would use the bedside commode in the early morning, sometimes wouldn't be emptied until afternoon. Some nurses were fantastic, but others not so much, perhaps needing more training.

My Father just spent a month at this facility. My Dad has been to several Hospitals and Rehabs and we have to say the care that my father received at this facility is TOP notch from the employees cleaning to my father’s care team. We highly recommend this facility. The Walsh Family

When my Dad was in the hospital and we needed to find another place for him due to his respiratory problems. They ended giving him a tracheotomy at the hospital and there was only a couple of place that would take him with the trach.

We read the reviews and obviously they weren’t good but our option was limited. My sister and I went to the facility to tour it and make sure we were making the right discussion for our father.

From the beginning we were so impressed with the facility and the people that work there.

The PA’s Amy and Mark was amazing the whole time my Dad was there. He has unfortunately been to a lot of places as of late and he said he doesn’t want to go anywhere else.

If I could I would give it a 10 out of 10. Please don’t read the old reviews as this place is amazing.

A lot of the staff (not all) do "just enough" to get by. Don't expect anything extraordinary from most of these people. One day the common area bathroom (for visitors and "STAFF") had no soap. I let one of the nurses know (while she was filing her finger nails!) and she just said ok. Never moved to get soap. Just kept filing away. Isn't soap as simple as care taking 101? Wash your hands! More than half of the woman are giggling on their phones and when you say, excuse me, they look at you like you just asked for their first born. It's dirty, run down and gross. The nurses (or nurses assistants, not sure who they are) only do the bare minimum. Again, not all, but MANY that I saw. Advice to the higher ups: get someone in there who is competent enough to lead the staff. Teach them to be better! These patients are people's families. If staff are burnt out, then QUIT!! You're only hurting the patients. They should be ashamed of themselves. PS- Don't follow up to this review with a "Were so sorry to hear about your experience. Contact us at blah blah blah." Nobody wants to do that for fear of retaliation to our loved ones. Just do your job and do it well. You're in Healthcare for goodness sake!

My husband was in this horrid place twice which almost killed him both times! Patient neglect severely. ,contracted conjunctivitis and the flu from their staff. I documented how long various times he sat in his own waste! He was told he was disgusting and left the room. After 911 was called one night I tried calling the facility to get hung up on 6 times! They stole all his personal items. Various times you can walk through the halls to hear patients calling for help with no regard for them at all. This facility should be shut down ! They would place his call button out of reach at night. He fell and nothing was documented. The language barrier is a problem amount staff. I asked a rn to get someone to change my husband and I was treated as I was inconveniencing them. This facility is an utter nightmare . Disgust for the staff here . No compassion no care do not put your loved ones in this facility . I even told our insurance company not to pay them and told them everything . My family will never heal from the treatment they gave my husband or utter lack of ! You all should be ashamed to treat other humans like this! You almost killed my husband not once but twice shame on you all !! I hope the state comes in and shuts the doors to this place I wouldn’t send my worst enemy there .

The nurses in the long term acute unit were okay to my mother. However I can tell the unit is understaffed. It is affecting patient care. It took 20+ minutes for someone to get a bedpan for my mother. By the time someone returned my mom had already peed the bed. One time when I was visiting I had to take the bed pan off my mother because no nurse or CNA came to check up on her. One nurse told me how a CNA called out one night and she was left to deal with a unit full of patients by herself.

My brother was a patient for 3 weeks before he passed. The Nurses, PAs, Doctor, CNAs, RT PT and ST and even the cleaning staff were kind and caring. My only issue was that there was not a chaplain available. My family is very grateful for the care My brother Mark received. Thank you
