Originally my son was nervous about going away for two weeks, upon return he wished summer camp was longer. "The best two weeks of my life" he expressed. Overland team have open and clear communications about what to expect and before during and after the camp. This is a lifetime experience every time child should experience. Thank you Overland Team and see you next summer!

My daughter had the most amazing Overland trip and I feel like a love of nature lost a bit in the last few years has returned! First off, we were lucky enough to receive some scholarship which really helped...From start to finish everyone was kind, helpful and professional which was not a surprise. I was worried as my daughter had not ever done a week without people she knew, but she had the best time and made some new friends. My favorite part is that I grew up fairly outdoorsy etc. but due to many circumstances we have not done as much with her. I have wanted to camp, hike, explore and look at trips to national parks, but she seemed to be losing interest. How would she do without TV or a tablet or friends? Would she love nature as much as I do? YES YES YES. I know the counselor's love of the outdoors and excellent planning played a huge part in this, but the daughter I once had who loved being outside and exploring is back. She already wants to do 2 weeks...and Yellowstone... and Alaska. And has now been hiking with me and wants to do a LOT of camping. Back country specifically (I'm telling her one step at a time.) I cannot thank you enough Overland.... Sometimes an experience can be a game changer and I bet your trips are for most.

We are a first-time Overland family, and our son participated in one of their overseas hiking programs this summer. He absolutely loved it, finding the perfect balance of fun and challenges on the spectacular Swiss Alps. We couldn't have found a better program, and our son wholeheartedly agreed. A special shout-out goes to his two amazing counselors, who were caring, thoughtful, and full of positive energy. They went out of their way to help the kids break the ice during drop-off with engaging card games, and fostered a true sense of team spirit and camaraderie throughout the journey. When I picked up my kid, he didn't want to leave. I also want to thank Dave at Overland, who has a wealth of knowledge and tirelessly answered all our questions. Every staff member at Overland is impressive. I don't often write reviews, but Overland is a truly special program. We'll be back next summer.

Our children started at overnight camps and after a few years wanted to try something “new”. They both love adventure and travel and after a lot of research we discovered Overland. Collectively my children have done close to 10 trips and they truly have loved them. They have friends that they keep in touch with across the country. They now have the confidence to fly international and connect solo. They can hike mtns, set up tents and cook. They can let go of all technology and meet 12 strangers and find ways to connect and thrive in these situations. The experiences and memories of these trips will last a lifetime. And the Overland leadership truly has been incredible. .

Our daughter recently joined an Overland Summer Yellowstone Tetons adventure. She shared with us the personal challenges, making friendships, and the fun and enjoyment she experienced backpacking, kayaking, and hiking. She continues to talk highly of her camp leaders, Grayson, Arden and Julia. Especially Grayson’s passion and enthusiasm, Arden’s infectious positive attitude, and Julia’s guidance and encouragement. We are excited to share our daughter’s positive and “amazing” experience joining the Overland 12-day program. Her time with Overland has provided her memories which will last a lifetime.

Son (who had been to multiple other sleepaway camps before) was traumatised. First-time counsellors who were clearly not trained appropriately allowed persistent and outright bullying by campers who already knew each other to continue against numerous other children. Multiple safety issues. We had talked up this camp to our son in advance of the trip and to this day he doesn’t trust our judgement on account of his experience.

My backpacking trip with Overland was an unforgettable experience. I got out of my comfort zone, went on adventures I couldn’t have even imagined, and most importantly, I made lifelong friends. Every day was filled with laughs, awesome views, and great food. They truly make great trips and have great leaders!
