Olio was the first venue my wife and I checked out for our wedding, and we both left the tour completely in love with the space. After looking at a few more options, we realized it had to be this one. The tall ceilings, wood floors, and striking brick & concrete walls make this space so incredibly unforgettable. We loved the contrast of our wedding florals against the industrial-looking room. Our photographer was equally psyched about getting to take pictures there haha.

The owner Sarah was so amazing that we also ended up hiring her as our coordinator for the wedding day through her other company Without a Hitch, and thanks to her everything on the day itself went SO SMOOTHLY!

Olio has a few basic decoration options for lighting (and now curtains as well), but for the most part you'll be doing everything yourself or hiring a decorator/planner. Caterers need to be approved, but as long as they have the proper liquor license you can use whatever service or restaurant you like. It's great for those who want to fully customize their own event.

You get the space for 10 hours, which is more than enough for setup, cleanup, and the event itself. Since no one had booked the venue the day before, we were also able to use the space for free to do our rehearsal and drop off a few items as well, which was such a nice perk!

Olio is clean, beautiful restored, and well taken care of. The team day of was full of smiles and so helpful!
Exceptional backdrop for any life event. THE FLOOR IS INCREDIBLE. The windows showcased our awesome disco ball and black lights as they poured into the street.

We couldn’t have been happier with our wedding at Olio in Peabody! Sarah, the venue owner and owner of Without a Hitch, was great — responsive, attentive, and dedicated to ensuring every detail of our day was perfect. The venue itself was beautiful and modern, featuring historic hardwood floors and tall windows that added character and warmth to the space. The high ceilings and acoustics made our band sound SO good - everyone was dancing all night! The string lighting and complimentary up-lighting created a festive holiday vibe that our guests loved. A La Carte Catering and Premier Bar Service did an amazing job, providing signature drinks, tasty passed appetizers, and food stations in a way that encouraged mingling. It was truly the perfect day in every way!

Olio is an AMAZING venue! Sarah, the owner, was super helpful and knowledgeable and helped make our day run smoothly. The venue had so much space and allowed for my own layouts and designs. It is such a beautiful space and the staff does such a wonderful job there. Definitely recommend!

We had the pleasure of hosting our wedding reception at Olio in downtown Peabody, MA, and it was truly the best decision we made! With 120 guests, the space felt both spacious and intimate, offering plenty of room for everyone to enjoy themselves comfortably. The venue itself is modern and elegant, with beautiful wood flooring and great acoustics.

One of the highlights of our experience was the exceptional staff at Olio. Sarah and her team were amazing. From the moment we toured the venue, they were informative, attentive, and always available to answer our many questions. They made the entire planning process feel so smooth and stress-free. We were also treated to a bit of Olio’s history, which added a unique charm to our day.

We loved that we could arrive before the event, within our event window, to set up and take photos, giving us extra time to relax and enjoy the moment. Olio provided the tables and chairs, which were perfect for our setup, and allowed us to decorate the space exactly how we envisioned. Their list of preferred vendors was also a huge help; we went with Premier Bar Service and can’t recommend them enough—they were fantastic!

Our guests haven’t stopped talking about how great the space was, even a month later. No one had any issues with parking, and our guests who ubered had a comfortable spot to be dropped off/picked up right outside of the venue.

The size of the space allowed us to do everything we wanted - a photo wall, t-shirt toss, temporary tattoo station, and donut wall, while also having the dance floor lined with cocktail tables for any of our guests who preferred not to dance. All of this while leaving space for a bar area, buffet table, large dining area, and massive dance floor. We were even able to have our dog and best man, Winston, attend and part-take in the celebrations! We opted into the uplights & ceiling lights and it made all the difference.

Olio was the only venue we looked at because it immediately checked all the boxes for us. From the flexible layout to the amazing staff, every aspect exceeded our expectations. We couldn’t have asked for a better experience, and we highly recommend Olio to anyone looking for a stunning, modern venue with top-notch service. We would do it again and again if we could!

We eloped at this incredible venue, and we can't say enough about how wonderful our experience was. As a queer couple, it's been a little uncertain with the changing climate around queer rights, but this venue went above and beyond to make sure our day was nothing short of perfect. They were not only accommodating but genuinely supportive and flexible with every request we had.

From helping us with the lighting and guiding us on where to get the chairs, to allowing us to take photos inside before the ceremony because of the freezing weather, their kindness and attention to detail made us feel truly special. They even took behind-the-scenes photos and shared them with us, capturing moments we’ll treasure forever.

A special shoutout to Sarah, who was always amazing with communication. She answered all our questions so quickly and with such warmth, which made everything so much easier and stress-free.

The team made our elopement feel like an intimate celebration, and we couldn't be more grateful for their help in making our day so beautiful. If you're looking for a venue that supports queer couples and provides top-notch service, this is absolutely the place!

Sarah and her team are wonderful! My wife and I had our elopement ceremony here as they were offering free services to LGBTQ+ couples. It was so heartwarming knowing that the Olio team was able to provide these opportunities to us and so many couples at this time. Becca was onsite the day of our ceremony and was so kind and helpful. Her calm demeanor and joyful energy made a difference to us! The physical space of Olio speaks for itself- elegant, stunning and unique! But, the people making it happen made all the difference to us. We cannot recommend Olio enough!

We got married here on Sunday and I really can’t say enough good things about this space. The team was great to work with and all of our guests were so impressed by the space because it’s not like anything else really.

I LOVED having the ceremony, cocktail hour and reception all in one room because we wasted almost no part of our day shepherding folks from place to place. The caterer recommended to us, Premiere, was also amazing and they were on it and had many great suggestions to make the day as great as possible as they work in the space often.

If you want outdoor photos before we found two great little parks to work with and ended up doing our first look and family portraits at “Leather City Commons” which is a three minute drive down the street. Then the two of us walked the ten minute walk back to Olio from there and got some great photos by Peabody City Hall and there are truly a plethora of great brick walls to choose from for a good back drop!

For getting ready we stayed at the Bell Inn and Tavern and their team was also amazing! I got ready in a Junior Kjng Suite my parents were staying in and their team flipped the bridal suite early (as they had a wedding party the night before) so we could do bridal portraits with the moms and my sister. My husband and I stayed there that night and the room is gorgeous. My only regret with that space is we didn’t stay longer because it was so beautiful!!! (And the room service food we ordered from the tavern for lunch was great!) Shout out specifically to Kelsey and Heather for all of their help.

Logistically I was a little nervous about it being in Peabody as we live closer to Boston but parking is free on Sundays and folks could Uber easily to the venue. Many out of town folks loved being able to stay near Salem to make it a great weekend trip.

Last, I cannot recommend enough having a day of coordinator. I know Sarah who runs Olio has her own planning company and would be amazing to work with. I was lucky enough to have an amazing coworker and friend who helped me out and I literally gave him a binder with everything and I did not stress about anything for the entire day. I did not see my cell phone or get asked a single logistics question all day and it was GLORIOUS.

I think that covers everything and will absolutely update if I think of anything else that can help out future brides considering this great space!!!
