Super fun and affordable to become a member and liesurely enjoy "the village" a couple hours at a time with my grandsons. Last weekend we saw twin lambs born & take first steps in the barn just a few feet away. This weekend they were out in the field frollicking. We sat and watched the blacksmith work for a good half hour. Do you know why there are two bellows? We do. Great question from my 5 yo grandson.

I came here with my family for Christmas by Candlelight. We had been here once before over the summer, and we had a wonderful time. It was a lot of fun for us, particularly for our older son, who is a preschooler. The holiday decorations and lights were amazing. There were many interesting activities for everyone, including dipping candles, meeting Santa Clause, tasting mulled cider and gingerbread, learning about stockings and glass ornaments, singing and listening to carols, storytelling, and riding a horse carriage. The food at the Bullard Tavern was excellent too.

Memorable experience! Grander than what I expected. The entire village is transformed into a magical Christmas experience. Horse pulled carriage ride was so much fun! All of the houses have decorated Christmas trees. Beautiful Christmas lights all around the village. You can go at your own pace. The employees/characters are always welcoming new groups of people to their building. Grab a hot chocolate or a hot apple cider. Warm up by the fires they have going around the village. I seriously loved this experience so much! Still thinking about it days later.

Step back into the 1830s by visiting Old Sturbridge Village. I cannot say enough positive things about this place. The interpreters were knowledgeable and as friendly as the day is long. The village is very well kept and well staffed. All the facilities were clean and the food was very good, even if it was a little pricey. We picked up a copy of Charles Dickens a Christmas Carol at the gift shop and are already planning our return trip.

We went for the Christmas Lights Event this year, and it was amazing. We loved Christmas Carol's history. We learned so much that we didn't know about the holiday songs we listened to each year. The lights and candles were just lovely. I also heard that the hot chocolate was amazing.

It is certainly an experience. The village is very cute and some of the historical actors know their history quite well. However a lot of it is just being lectured by the actors in each building. It would be much better if there were more hands-on educational activities, especially for kids (a lot of the information is very boring for children).

Such a great fall experience and family day!
We were also super excited to find out that they accepted recipical Narm memberships, so we were able to enter in without a fee. The photos speak for themselves and truly capture how beautiful this location is you can spend the whole day here great for all ages.
