5 Stars ++++++ Awesome experience! We drove to Silverton for this tour and to see the San Juan Highway from Phoenix on whim while visiting Phoenix. I thought it would be a good experience for the 3 kids (1.5, 5 and 9 years old) and it didn't disappoint. Even the 1.5 year old was fine in the mine! Tour guide was very knowledge and very good with the kids. Tour was about a hour long, it was cold so bring a warm cloths and afterward we panned for gems and metals for about an hour.

The road to the mine is a bit rocky so make sure you have a vehicle that can withstand the terrain, but it is right in the middle of some of the most beautiful country that God has created.

If in the area, this is a must do for any age. Its well worth the price and they don't try to nickel and dime you with anything else.

Thank you Old Hundred for being such a great experience.

This is the best Mining tour that I've ever been too! Rode trail car down 1500ft down into the mine which was 47°, and learned about every step in the mining process. Tour guide was amazing. He has 30 years in the industry so very informative about mining. Definitely a must for those in the area!

Tours are available every hour to two hours depending on crowd. Our guide was a second generation miner and was very helpful with educating us on the ins and outs of the mines. He let us take all the photos we wanted which was cool being it was one of my bucket list things to do in life so I wanted to have the memories. Definitely will be back with family to visit the site of what was once a huge gold rush mine. Thanks!

It was a fun experience while on our adventure in Colorado. You can practice panning, but there is only a small amount of materials that they add to the boxes. The tour was great. We enjoyed seeing how mining was done in the old days.

Forty-five minutes of time inside a mine, learning about the process from an actual
miner was fascinating. Our guide was also very humorous, which made it even more enjoyable. The kids also had fun panning outside before and after our tour.

This was a blast! We wanted to see the mine, we didn't have a ride out to the mine, they came into Silverton to pick us up. The tour and history were glorious! The tour guide, Bob, has so much character, and makes the tour a lot of fun. Be warned, this is a real gold mine, if you have a fear of enclosed spaces, this may scare the bejesus out of you! If you are fascinated with the San Juan Mountains hardrock mining history, this will be very enjoyable for you.

We totally enjoyed panning for gold, silver, amethyst and more. We chatted with people that took the tour (take a working mine train into the mine for hands on and first person learning about the history of mining in this area. The people we chatted with loved it
