Where do I begin,
From the very first phone call in my search for a planner, Emily spent 45 minutes on the phone with me, understood my needs, provided reassurance and had A+ Vendors picked out for my wedding. She was very organized, prompt, and caring towards every detail for my special day. She went out of her way and helped me with my bridesmaids gift boxes, and did them beautifully! Everything from planning to the day of the wedding exceeded my expectations. My wedding day, she made sure to comfort me & put me first the entire day.
I will be forever grateful for her. She is amazing and I recommend her for any event/wedding.

Occasionals Events was a major gift to our event/wedding day. Emily not only has impeccable taste, but I knew/know I can trust her with a project of any scale. Emily is the best floral designer! The florals for my daughter’s wedding were absolutely spectacular! I was blown away when I walked into the room. Everyone was talking about how beautiful the flowers were all night! Emily was also so amazing to work with! She went above and beyond! We had to change our florals around a few times before wedding, and Emily was always so patient and helpful. She was truly a pleasure to work with! I will definitely be using her again for every special occasion!

Update 10/14/24

Emily contacted the bride and asked us to remove our “untrue” reviews. So not only is she horrible, she’s oblivious and entitled. I honor my badge as an elite yelper and high ranked Google reviewer and I RARELY leave 1-2 star reviews. If someone got a low rating, it was with reason!

As the maid of honor for the bride, I had the chance to witness much of the planning and coordination with Emily, the wedding planner from Occasional Events. Unfortunately, the experience left much to be desired, and there were several regrets about hiring her.

The bride's mother had fired their original planner to book Emily after attending another wedding she had coordinated, but it turned out to be a decision we wish hadn't been made. From the start, things felt disorganized, and the stress of the wedding day was amplified by Emily's lack of preparation.

The wedding rehearsal was chaotic. It was a hot day at the end of summer, and Emily kept us all outside for much longer than necessary due to unclear directions, causing unnecessary mistakes and confusion. The bride's 85-year-old grandfather was visibly struggling with the heat, yet Emily seemed more focused on redoing the aisle walk than showing any consideration for him.

When the bride decided she didn't want all 8 of her bridesmaids to stand up front during the ceremony, Emily was insistent that she would regret it, even arguing with us about it. She even suggested taking a vote on the matter, which left us all shocked--this was the bride's wedding, not a democracy! Additionally, she interrupted the bride during hair and makeup to ask who was folding napkins for dinner--a question that could have easily been asked of someone else.

Only the aisle walk was rehearsed, and after the ceremony, no one knew where to go or what to do. The cocktail hour re-entry for the newlyweds was another disaster, with constant changes on where we should walk, adding more confusion.

One glaring moment of disappointment was at the end of the night when the parting gifts were not ready for guests to take. Family members of the bride had to scramble to put them out, and many guests missed out on them entirely. The sparkler exit was also poorly handled--Emily didn't have the getaway car ready, and by the time it arrived, the sparklers were already burning out.

To top it off, Emily and her assistant were seen eating before the bride's parents, which felt incredibly disrespectful.

The biggest issue, however, was Emily's overall absence during the wedding. We rarely saw her, and she was not readily available to troubleshoot issues or guide the day smoothly. Her lack of presence and organization made the entire experience more stressful than it needed to be.

In the end, we sincerely wish we had gone with a planner who was more organized and focused on making the day less chaotic, instead of adding to the stress. I wouldn't recommend Emily for anyone looking for a smooth and well-organized wedding day.

Review- Occasionals Events -Emily Escobar-

I contracted Emily after I saw her in action at a good friend's daughter's wedding in Conroe, TX. .She agreed to travel to San Antonio to do my daughter's wedding. My major complaint- she over promises and under delivers, I was so disappointed! She started off great and once she was paid she did very little other than the timeline.
If you consider using Emily and Occassionals, I suggest that you interview other wedding planner and coordinator companies. Construct a list of duties for Emily, add the duties (in detail) and your expectations to an additional contract for her to sign.
Once Emily was paid in full, she wanted to charge for every additional duty, which I thought came natural to a wedding planner- coordinator. Thank goodness, my sister, my brother-in-law, and my best friend saved my daughter's wedding. We were also blessed to have great vendors (not affiliated with Emily or Occasionals). Emily refused to fold the napkins which arrived unfolded. When asked why, she said, "it was not in the contract." She also rushed off (at the venue rehearsal ) before all the wedding logistics were discussed. Looking back on my daughter's wedding, this was not money well spent...

We recently had Emily plan our daughter’s graduation party, and we couldn’t be more impressed with the experience. She was professional, attentive, and highly detail-oriented. From the initial planning stages to the day of the event, Emily ensured everything ran smoothly and exceeded our expectations. Our guests had a wonderful time, and our daughter felt truly celebrated. We recommend Emily for any event planning needs.

Emily was very thorough and supportive. She comes up with good ideas and does not get upset if the client (you) also have a good idea. She supports and builds on any action that helps the creativity of the event. She is organized and stays calm to make sure the client remains on point. She will also handle some of the smaller tasks that other event planners wouldn’t want to handle (like helping to get an item from point A to B). She also helped arrange a small gift set for a smaller “pre-party”. Emily definitely supports her client and is good about staying focused on them. I would use Emily again. As info, she helped plan a birthday party for 60+ people that was a 5 star event.
