This place is so fun! We live about 20-30 minutes away, depending on traffic, and it was well worth the drive. It was a weekday but towards the end of summer break so it was pretty busy. Even being so busy my daughter was able to play with all the water features without having to wait really. If one was busy she just moved on to another and went back when it was free. There's lots of water features to play with so expect your kids and maybe yourself to get wet. We took extra clothes for everyone and had her in her bathing suit with shorts over for the playground slides. There's 2 different playground areas and a huge grassy hill. Plenty of beaches for sitting, grass for picnics and shade for staying cool. We'll definitely be going back again next summer!

A Touch of Middle-earth

One particular tree in the park instantly caught my eye—it stood tall and noble, its pale bark and graceful branches reminding me of the White Tree of Gondor from The Lord of the Rings. It felt like stepping into a peaceful realm far from the rush of everyday life.

The park is impeccably maintained, with clean paths, plenty of open space for picnics or play, ……etc.

Whether you’re a local or just passing through, Oak Canyon Community Park is a ………..nctuary for the soul…. etc…))

Beautiful park, plenty of play area and it even has a path for hiking. This park seems very well maintained. It even has a separated dog park connected as well. Great for family gatherings and even allows BBQ with its seperated grill sections. Visit and have a look. I recommend it!

Lovely time here! Great parking, dog park is a little bit of a steep climb so may not be fully accessible for all, but the dog park was lovely! The cleanest one I've seen so far! Also lovely trails, watch out for coyotes though when walking your dogs!

This park is a hidden gem! (Half tempted to keep as a local secret…half joking but totally serious) As a resident and mom who's hosted a 7-year-old's birthday here (and rented that surprisingly poppin' gazebo), let me break it down:

The Gazebo Scoop:
- Super affordable but books fast - don't assume your date is open!
- Has electrical hookups (perfect for bounce houses or our snow cone machine)
- Great covered tables with direct splash pad views

Splash Pad + Play Areas:
- Clean, well-maintained splash pad (push button on fence pole to activate)
- No burning eyes like those over-chlorinated spots
- 3 separate play structures, nicely spread out but all within view
- Perfect for ages 'just standing' to 9/10 years (sweet spot is 3-6 years)

The Layout:
- Tons of picnic space
- 4 covered bench areas by splash pad (yes, we all know about the towel-claiming situation 😉)
- Clean, conveniently located bathrooms
- Plenty of parking without being overcrowded

The Setting:
- Beautiful rolling hills
- No houses in sight until you're 2 blocks out
- One block to outdoor amphitheater
- Duck pond nearby (maybe skip the Goldfish snacks!)

Mom Review: Been here 10-30 times over 5 years with my kids (8 & 3). It's just perfect - clean, spacious, and actually enjoyable for parents too!

It's such a nice place, very clean. They do have a small parking structure right in the front. A great place to take kids during a hot summer day since they have a mini water park section. They also have section with tables under the shade. The bathroom is very close. Lots of beautiful grass and playgrounds for kids. Stairs to go down to what seems to be a small hike. It's very beautiful with a small river. The only thing was a lot of overgrown tress/ bushes and fallen trees, so I would be. Careful. Beautiful place.
