Northern Epic Did Not Disappointed!!
We went on a five hour guided hike. We were really blown away by the level of professionalism and educational knowledge that Jordan, our guide, was able to provide. He knew so much about the local environment, the culture, plants, trees, shrubs and even fungus. He was also able to tell us much of the history of Denali park. We were able to hike from just above the river all the way above the tree line and see great views of the surrounding area. We were also very impressed by the level of education the guides receive in the way of safety and field medicine. You never want to use those skills, but it is invaluable that your guides have them. We would definitely recommend Northern Epic to anyone wanting an “off the beaten path” small group individualized hike.

We had a great 5 hour hike with Jordan! I love learning about the native flora and fauna - to me that's what a guide is for - and Jordan did not disappoint! He could name everything! And he could tell me what was safe to nibble on! I love foraging! Hiking poles were provided. It was a reasonably vigorous hike, but he would have taken an easier route if we had wanted. No complaints. It was a lovely way to spend our afternoon!

This was a great family hike! Our guide Sam was so generous with his attention and enthusiasm for our kids’ questions. He was very knowledgeable and we enjoyed hearing about (and sampling) the surprising array of edible berries, lichens and plants. We also saw a black backed woodpecker- a first for us. We also appreciated being picked up right where we were staying. Highly recommend!

We absolutely recommend you take a discovery hike with Jason, from Northern Epics! He was extremely knowledgeable, engaging and personable. This was the perfect small-group experience.

We learned so much about the local flora and fauna. Jason made sure we had a positive experience with his enthusiasm and knowledge.

He came prepared for the weather and terrain and had extra gear in case someone wasn’t or forgot theirs (rain jackets, hiking poles and water). He also taught us about the dangers of nature and how to protect ourselves.

Our experience couldn’t have been better…except the animals didn’t cooperate with an appearance ?.

My husband and I had an absolutely amazing hiking tour in Denali National Park! The day of our tour, it ended up being just the two of us, but the tour wasn't canceled, and we were so grateful for that. Our guide was incredibly knowledgeable and patient, sharing fascinating details about the park's history, wildlife, and landscape. The fall colors were in full bloom, painting the mountains with vibrant shades of red, orange, and gold – it was breathtaking! It felt like we had the entire park to ourselves, and the beauty of the scenery made the experience unforgettable. Highly recommend this tour!

My family and I had a lovely tour with Jason. His knowledge, energy and enthusiasm for nature made what would have been a lovely hike- exceedingly enjoyable. He was informative about all sorts of wildlife and plants. He suggested a few herbs and berries to try that were unique in flavor, as well as some more non traditional snacks. Had my family done this hike alone, we would have missed a lot of details that he brought to our attention.

Hands down one of the most fun and enjoyable hiking tours I’ve gotten to do! We had the pleasure of having Jason as our tour guide, and man did he know a lot! Not only did we get to learn a lot about the plants and animals it was a super chill and relaxing hike with plenty of amazing views. 10/10 I would recommend!

We had a truly wonderful time exploring Denali with our guide, Jordan! He was incredibly knowledgable about all things nature related - plants and animals included. It was the perfect level of activity for all ages and abilities. If we had stayed longer in Denali, we’d for sure be back for another tour!
