Stayed at the North Rim after hiking from the South (as a day hike). It's a gorgeous area. We missed our dinner reservations due to our hike taking longer than planned, and they wouldn't allow us to order food to go due to not being staffed/equipped to serve the customers eating in house and serving to-go food. The server at breakfast was incredibly friendly. The views from the patio of the lodge could have you seated there all day. We stayed in the cabins. There was a mouse in our cabin which apparently is a well known thing and the beds were pretty uncomfortable, but the experience as a whole was incredible and we'll be back!!

Absolutely amazing. They have cabins that are right by the view and a lodge that serves food and it's really beautiful. The trail to angel point was closed but still worth the drive. You can get a year pass for $80

Went to the north rim on our way to Vegas from the north. What a great treat, we stayed in Kanab and went for the evening and sunset. We were there for only 2-3 hours but it was awesome. Breathtaking views and basically had the canyon to ourselves. We did a small rim hike and found a get view for sunset and basically were alone for an hour.

Note doing the canyon for sunset does mean driving back in the dark, which was full of animals so drive carefully.

Lovely old NPS Lodge and cabins.
We only stayed an afternoon, had lunch in the Lodge dining room with a gorgeous view.
Restaurant service in the Lodge was not the best, slow and menu costly, but for the sake of the experience, we enjoyed it.
Trails and views and the scenic drive are wonderful.

It was fine. Not much different than any national parks visitor center. Main views don't allow dogs so I didn't go there. Imperial Point (a sideroad) was impressive though. We didn't visit every viewpoint, but we liked Imperial the best. We've hiked down from south rim a few times. North Rim is much less busy. It is very different as far as views.

We went to Grand Canyon North Rim over Labor Day Weekend, and surprisingly, there were very few visitors. We used our national parks senior pass, so we were free, but it is $35 per car for everyone else. We didn't have a reservation, and luckily we didn't need one. You will need at least 4 hrs to see all the sites.
We started at the lodge and visitor center where they have good views, bar and restaurant, lectures from park rangers, and cabins you can rent with advance reservations.
Then, we drove to the end, where Angel's window is about 45 mins away. I thought that the best views were at the end at Cape Royal. There was a short trail to an overlook that had spectacular views, but if you're afraid of heights, like me, you might only be able to go part way.
We didn't hike, but they made it easy to view the majestic Grand Canyon from many overlooks on the scenic drive. I would suggest stopping at the overlooks on the way out of the park because they're on the same side, plus, you might be short on time like we were.
It's definitely an experience of a lifetime, plus it is one of the wonders of the world.

We came here 1 week before they close. It's a seasonal National Park, open from May-October. We've been to South rim several times but it's our first time here. It's smaller but less crowded, very quiet and peaceful. I actually like it here better as you can truly enjoy the scenery without anyone bumping your shoulder and trying to fight the view.

The camping ground was full, you need to book it 6 months ahead. There were plenty of dispersed camping outside the park, which we end up doing. It's very beautiful here around October with the bright yellow aspens.

The Rangers and volunteers are awesome. They are knowledgeable and friendly. They have an outdoor location on the rim at the parking lot to get advice. The building has clean restrooms. The water quality is very good.
