Customer service at this Nob Hill in Redwood Shores is very bad, some of the staff are indifferent and some are very rude. I requested assistance but the employee responded with a stare and a shrug. Another employee at the self checkout did not even answer a simple question I asked about a product. Management is careless as well. I requested to speak with a manager but 10 minutes passed and no manager showed up. This is the worst store in the Bay Area.

Nob Hill Foods offers a high-quality shopping experience with a wide selection of fresh produce, premium meats, and specialty items. Their clean, well-organized stores and friendly staff make grocery shopping convenient and enjoyable.

Although it appears high-end, and Raley’s has a generally good reputation, this particular Nob is notorious for selling badly expired items. Please check expiration dates very carefully if you do shop here.

A few recent personal anecdotes:
- Tabasco sauces expired in 2021 (x2, two separate occasions). Yes, a full four years expired.
- mission tortilla strips expired three weeks before purchase
- golden state hard cider expired a year before purchase
- two Tostitos salsa jars, different flavors, expired 6mo before purchase

I posted on a local forum and this seems to be a rampant trend at this Nob.

I like the place now better than eight years ago. When I just moved into the area, I came here and did not like the selections. I probably came here less than 10 times in the first 3 years. I got most of my grocery from Whole Food. Then it is kinda far. I started to come here for milk, egg and breads once a week. I started to notice the prices are more competitive and selections are increasing. That is great for me. I don't have to drive all the way to san mateo for my grocery.
I still don't buy stuff here when they are not on sale unless I really need them. They could be pricey. However, when they are on sale, prices are excellent. They got good choices of cheeses. I love fairlife milk here. I can get two bottles for $6 when they run the promotion. This is new. Their promotion price used to be $4.99 per bottle. I wish I have a bigger fridge to buy more when they offer that new lower price. I also like the alro cream cheese spread they sell here.

The customer service staff at the self check out is very rude ( February 21, 2025, 7:15pm). I just ask a question and commented and stare very rudely and aggressive at me and then walk away. No customer service at all and not professional. Everybody is nice including Aldek the manager but her. I hope this doesn’t happen to any customers again. Please management address the concern.

Many outdated and short-termed items on shelves. Moldy fresh fruit and vegetables often found. So disappointing, because the employees are great.

Very nice Asian section. They stock Angelo Pietro Salad dressings and Yamasa soy sauces. These are 2 of my go to sauces for cooking. Great produce department with plenty of selection. Plenty of parking. Very nice and friendly staff.
