Niantic Bay Boardwalk stretches 6000 feet from Niantic Bay Beach to Hole-in-the-Wall Beach. Fun yellow seashell location markers installed by Eagle Scout Joshua Miller of Troop 240 indicate how far a walker has traveled along the boardwalk and provide information for emergency services should something go amiss. Besides this excellent signage, the boardwalk boasts plenty of informational signs about the history and ecology of the area. As an added bonus, trains regularly run down the railroad tracks beside the boardwalk and cross the drawbridge on the Niantic Bay Beach end of the path. This boardwalk is free to use; let the person in the booth know that you are using the boardwalk, not going to the beach.

It's hard to rate. If you are looking for a walk or run on good stable ground by the water this is the place.
Its pretty much a track around the water. It's well maintained and parking is available

So much has changed! Used to be a fisherman beach, now it's full of yuppies. Even expect you to pay to park during the beach season. Gave it 5 stars only because I will always love this beach because my mom's ashes are on it! But even she would be upset at how it turned out. It is still a beautiful place. Just too many people.

A beautiful little spot. Pay to park during the day. Perfect for young kids. Quiet, calm atmosphere. Easy access. Felt very safe. Fascinating train above, water very clear and clean, Beach was perfect. Great park right next door, play ground over the hill. Public bathrooms were clean, little foot shower at them. Outstanding icecream/candy shop at the top of the lots. Easy access for all mobilities.

Great family spot. We go any chance we get. Beautiful and very clean. My daughter loved watching the boats go out. My husband and son got their fishing on. I had a great nap with the waves at my feet.

Love this area. Look at Niantic Bay, smell the sea, always people walking by. From Labor Day until Memorial Day dogs are welcome on the beach to frolic- never on the boardwalk itself.

I loved the peaceful feeling and the spectacular evening view of the sunset.

I did notice a sign that said "No dogs allowed" I also noticed the beach was full of dogs just passed that sign. ?

I must say, I've never seen so many bits and pieces of broken shells in my entire life, do not try to walk barefoot on this beach, unless your feet are seasoned.
