Beautiful drive or walk through the forest up to even better views of the valley and Connecticut river. There is a small parking lot that you pay to park, and in the parking lot is a port-o-John. If you’re there at certain times you can use the clean flush toilets located on the ground floor of the summit house.
There are several picnic tables available, some are covered and some are accessible for people with accessibility needs.
On the far side of the picnic area there are picnic tables with grills and another beautiful view.

I am rating it only 4 stars right now because I have yet to be able to see inside the Summit House, so I’ll update the rating and review after I get inside the building.

An amazing place to visit I have been coming here since I was a child! The view is amazing. Tons of great climbing rocks for kids to explore. Great slice of history! Wonderful place for a picnic. There is also a Memorial site for those who crashed into the mountain during WW2. It's a great hiking range to explore for all ages! Definitely check it out! You can also drive up to the summit if you aren't the hiking type! Parking is 5$ for Massachusetts residence and 10$ for out of staters! Enjoy!

We hiked from the Notch parking area to the Mt.Holyoke Summit House. The trail is known as The 7 Sisters. It was a challenging hike on a glorious day. Totally worth the effort! The views along the trail were often enough to allow a break from the strenuous "ups." The view from the Summit House was the prize! Expansive on our perfect day! Enjoy!

While driving North on Route 91, we noticed this building on the summit of a nearby mountain, it took us a while to find it and we had to park at base of the mountain. It was part of Skinner State Park, we had to hike up to the Summit House and it was delightful journey with surprises all over. From ice flows, to a memorial for the crew of a WWII bomber from the nearby military airbase that crashed into the mountain in the fog, the Summit House offered panoramic view of the Connecticut River Valley, the Ox Bow in the river as well as the towns of Northampton and Hadley below. This was a delightful place that we have come back to enjoy multiple times and hope you'll have the same feelings as we did. Enjoy.

Found this by accident when I was on one of my bicycle club. There is no way I could ride my bike up the mountain. There was a lot of information about the old hotel inside. There was great views all around the building. There are restrooms available and lots of picnic tables for you to enjoy all the views. You just need to bring the food and drink. Also don't forget the camera.
To park at the top the parking is $10.00 and there isn't a lot of parking available about about 10 to 12 parking spaces at the very top, but one tier below there is about another 15 to 18.
If you don't want to pay or just want to hike up the many trails you can park lower down the mountain. If you want to ride your bicycle up hope you have great legs and strong lungs. But be for warned the road is just big enough two cars.

Skinner mountain offers great views of the Pioneer Valley, Holyoke river, and the mountain ranges to the north. You can drive up to the top of the mountain after paying a $5 national park fee ($10 for out of state) or you can hike up the mountain from any of the numerous marked hiking trails.
At the top you will be greeted with beautiful views as well as the historic summit house which is free to enter.
There are plenty of park benches, picnic tables, and grassy areas to enjoy a lunch or picnic while soaking up the scenery.
