Catching the sunrise here was well worth the drive! Faculties were nice, trails were easy to follow, and views were spectacular. The highest point (signal trail) was a little underwhelming, but I hiked mossback ridge to benefield east and west and back. Was very enjoyable!

Really beautiful views from atop Arkansas' highest point. Wish there was more time to explore the numerous hiking trails, but there was an excellent driving route with several lookout points along the way.

There was also a great, well taken care of store with friendly park employees and a lodge/ cabins that looked very cozy yet modern.

My husband and I recently stayed at Mount Magazine State Park for our anniversary. We enjoyed a spacious and tastefully decorated cabin complete with a washer/dryer combo, dishwasher and hot tub with a stunning view of the Arkansas River some 2500 feet below. I was duly impressed with the level of comfort our home away from home provided. We were able to cook full course meals, as well as enjoying happy hour at the lodge's restaurant and bar. We only tried the spinach and artichoke dip at the restaurant, but it was spicy and delicious. The staff were all very friendly and accommodating.

There are miles of hiking/nature trails for those so-inclined, but they also have a wonderful fully paved walkway that's also fit for biking. In addition, there are lovely picnic areas and a number of drive up to overlooks, each with its incomparable views. Whether a day trip or for multiple nights, Mount Magazine is definitely worth your time.

The ranger at the visitor center was extremely helpful. The displays there were really great. We hiked the east Benefield loop trail. It was an easy hike and the parts along the rim had spectacular views.

Easy and short scenic drive up the mountain. We drove it with our 2 teens and dogs. There were some beautiful spots to look out over the cliffs up on the mountain. Gift shop has some nice shirts. It was worth the drive to see the highest mountain in Arkansas.

The views never get old! It’s absolutely beautiful! Take you some fixens for a good picnic! Everyone is so helpful and friendly! If it’s cool take a jacket or coat and be prepared for some wind and stunning views! Also, take your time, when we went, deer were just standing around in the road literally a couple of feet from our car, so be on the look out for wildlife.

An upscale and scenic state park , read full reviews and I am trying to touch everything in my comment .Staff is welcoming , route to park is super scenic . Stay at lodge for best experience and on site restaurant have good menu , delicious and low price food . Visitor center is good way to start . Watch out for deer and fawn , they are everywhere , my fav is one that comes every night at the back of lodge to graze . Park has ton of butter fly and dedicated area at the lodge to see butter fly . Humming birds are there and many of them , easily visible at the back of lodge . There are many trail to do and look outs along the drive , there is loop to drive thru and it’s very picturesque. Over all staff , park it self , trail , look out , lodge , on-site restaurant all are upscale and beautiful scenery and full of wild life . Well worth to add this park into a bucket list of state park visits in arkansas . Being there is like ,A haven at the highest peak on mountain !!!

One of the best well kept state parks in Arkansas. The views are spectacular. Many hiking trails with awesome views. The lodge is huge with a great full bar and resturant. This state park is a must if you're anywhere near Central Arkansas.
