Slice of heaven. Space for creative types, families on vacation, outdoor enthusiasts, and anyone who wants to break from the connected world. Plenty of hiking trails or incredible vistas from the main house. We came a week after a wedding so the grounds were in impeccable condition. Glenn the owner/host made everything perfectly comfortable and easy for our whole family. He thought of everything. We'll be back with friends.

A few friends and I rented the meadow house for a bachelor party weekend. While the house is located in a beautiful secluded meadow, be aware that the house is not completely finished. To access the rooftop deck, you must go up a temporary ladder that is grounded to loose tile on the third floor through a sky light, where you reach the rooftop deck. When we were there, there was a pile of lumber which occupied about 1/3 of the overall deck.

Upon arrival, Glenn the homeowner, took us on a walkthrough of the house and mentioned that he didn't have time to have a full cleaning crew before we arrived. While it wasn't an issue on the first floor, when we went upstairs all of the carpeting was stained from either vomit or some other brown substance. While Glenn apologized for not being able to get it steam cleaned before we arrived, It was everywhere, hallways, bedrooms, music room etc.

While this was all disappointing, we were fine with it as we are all 30 year old guys and have dealt with far worse. What really killed us was when we got the damage assessment from Glenn. He claimed we had done over $1300 worth of damage to the home. While we did break one plastic Adirondack chair, Glenn accused us of blowing out his PA speaker and amp as well as staining the carpeting upstairs (same carpeting he mentioned he didn't have time to clean from the last group). The PA speaker was working fine when we left on Sunday, and rather than show us a work order or estimate to fix the speaker and Amp, Glenn attempted to charge us for a full brand new system!

And now for the worst part.... when we got the estimate from Glenn, I simply requested that he provide us with some proof that it was indeed us that caused the said damages (knowing that he would have to manufacture proof as we were only responsible for the broken Adirondack chair). His response basically said that we can either pay the $1290 damages and he would provide us with a good review OR we could continue fighting and he would give us a 1 star review threatening that no one on AirBnb would ever rent to us again! Absolute extortionist. Thankfully AirBnb arbitrated the issue and ended up charging us only $100 for the broken chair and some candle wax that dripped on his fireplace.

Thanks Airbnb resolutions, hopefully Glenn will either have to clean up his act or sell to a more responsible owner! (And should anyone at G+ have an issue with my review, I am happy to provide whatever proof necessary to back up my review).
